I would say no after owning a few chin drive bikes. Get motorcycle chain lubricant.

Q: having used tri-flo & on occasion a synthetic car lubricant (am-zoil), would this stand up to those?

Don't know if I can give you a real answer to your question. I've never used that product before so I can't make a comparison. All I can definitively state is that after many years of racing and sport cycling and using just about every lubricant made for bicycles out there, I have to say from the standpoint of convenience, ease of application and durability, the WD40 has become my go to lube in all weather.

This particular degreaser foams on contact, so you might find that you actually use a little bit less than if you are used to degreasing with a liquid degreaser. I don't seem to waste as much.
