I really like this lead holder and it feels nice in the hand I also like that it doesn't have a clip on it.

My favorite pencil...
I am an artist and like so many others, quirky. I just love the feel of this holder. My best work has begun with a pencil sketch with this holder. It is so good to me, when it became misplaced, I could not create. I tried with other holders but just not the same. If you are like me, you need this holder for your initial sketch. Trust me you will create famous artwork!

The best 2mm lead holder for sketching.
This is without doubt the best lead holder / pencil that you can get for traditional drawing. Unfortunately it is also relatively expensive, particularly if you want it in 4B and up. Why do I think it is the best? Simply because it is the most light weight, durable, reliable, and drop-friendly holder around. The plastic construction weighs almost nothing in comparison to most holders, but it still has a very high quality metal clutch that grips right. The lack of those ridiculous pocket clips is a big plus. It has a tapered front section with light ribbing for a bit of grip enhancement. You can use this holder with any grip: the traditional western writing grip, the asian three finger grip, and the loose sketching grip where you hold the pencil loosely from the end. Traditional artists often take regular pencils and use knives to carve away the wood, leaving a thin piece of graphite at the front end (like a needle sticking out from a hot dog). With this holder you don't need to do that. Simply insert your lead and get to work. You can sharpen with a 2mm sharpener or with a sanding pad.

The clutch pencil has a solid feel to it even though it's light in weight (balance?). Comfortable to use when sketching for architectural work.
