A Super-Mom’s Dream Planner
I’m a working mother of 3 who balances homeschooling with partial clinic/partial home office work, in addition to managing a couple employees, my children’s karate, dance, and music lessons, and the remaining litany of tasks that come with busy family life. I’ve long-since crossed that necessary productivity threshold where using a smartphone (“infinity in my pocket”) to manage and plan my life is no longer worth the risk of the innate potential for distraction. This is THE best all-in-one planner/journal I have ever seen—and I’ve seen a lot! I recently reviewed a number of the top selling productivity journals and settled on this one primarily due to: -DAILY blank journal pages for any as-needed use, right alongside the more rigidly structured Task lists, Key Action lists, and the like. Sometimes they turn into additional lists, other days they are a place of true journaling and self-reflection for me. But they are always useful in one way or another. -The quality, weight, and smoothness of the paper, i.e. it takes to ink so beautifully, like my higher-end journals and stationery. As a lifelong, hopelessly chronic journaler, my appreciation for attention to this element can not be overstated. -The built-in repetition of stating, framing, and reframing visions and goals. Some may find it redundant but from a psychological standpoint it’s actually quite brilliant—it forces you to think about what’s truly most important to you from multiple angles, which aids in crystallizing your own vision for yourself. -The “Extras” in the back for as-needed use—lists, charts, blank pages to make of as you wish. It’s everything I can imagine needing for those unexpected, miscellaneous thoughts, events, or ideas that I want to revisit later but wouldn’t know how to categorize or where best to notate them. It can now all find a home in the planner where I know I will eventually find it again. I sincerely think this is the best of all worlds in the planner/journal space for busy, goal-oriented professional PARENTS who don’t need a bunch of warm and fuzzy parenting quotes with floral and paisley print taking up half of every page. While the online tutorials for using the journal (which I DO recommend watching) seem to cater their marketing towards “younger” and perhaps childless professionals, they have still (though perhaps unintentionally) created the ultimate working-parent planner in the process. I don’t think I’m ever going back. At least, not until my youngest child has successfully graduated and left home! (File under “A Vision of Your Future”...) THEN maybe I’ll get one of those planners with floral and paisley print that takes up half of every page. Until then, I’m a convert to the Phoenix Journal.

My Favorite Planner
The Phoenix Journal is the best planner I have used. I had purchased another well known planner with the 12 week format, however, when I saw an ad on Instagram for the Phoenix Journal, I ordered it from Amazon. When it arrived I was excited to check it out. However, I noticed that the package had been dropped, and there was minor impact damage to some pages. I thought about returning the planner because of the damaged pages, but I was so impressed with the quality and format of its design, that I had to keep it. I’m blown away with its design and quality. For instance, it feels good in the hand, the size is perfect for me, and the paper quality is the best I’ve experienced (no bleed through). Also, the quality of the print is impressive, and the logical layout of the planning process is intuitive. I have been using planners since the 80’s, yet I’m most at home with the Phoenix Journal planning philosophy. The planner makes it so easy to follow its logically designed planning process. I love the process. The “How to use the Phoenix Journal” section is excellent for getting one started effectively. The introduction section helps with creating vision, establishing actionable 12 week goals, writing a 12 week plan, planning the first week, and daily planning. This is my planning system and planner moving forward!

A Solid Journal For Those Striving Towards Consistency
Firstly, the quality of the journal is great. Sturdy, simple, and professional. I could take this anywhere and it would blend right in. Compared to my Ignited journal, it's much smaller which I appreciate. I love the introduction, the author gives some basic psychology of goal setting and developing a true vision and purpose in your life. They include book references from top level self-development experts that these principles were developed from. In the beginning, you spend time to go into detail about your vision for the future, a future you fear, your 3 year vision, and 12 week vision I really like the fact that each day has it's own 2 pages. Daily schedule, key actions, outcomes, a few solid questions to ask yourself, and on the other pages, lines for journaling. This will allow you to give a daily summary which is necessary in my opinion. Before each week starts, they gave a space to write up to 6 habits you'd like to incorporate, along with a checkmark space for each day. This way you can track your progress each week for habits. To my initial impression, this planner is very much focused on daily and weekly goals, since your working on a 12 week plan. If your seeking more of a journaling/monthly planner focused item, I would seek elsewhere. If you want to attack goals and build consistency, this is for you. I work with children, and I am going to use this journal with a 10 year old to start building some self awareness, and give him a schedule + goals to hit. I presented it to the parents, and they loved it.

I've been buying this planner for the last three years. At the beginning of 2023 I thought I'd try a new planner. I didn't last long before I purchased another Phoenix Planner. I enjoy how I am able to reflect on my progress daily, weekly, and quarterly. This planner keeps me grounded and focused!

This journal helps you to get real specific on what your goals are and then helps to break it all down and stay focused on your goals. I’ve had dozens of journals. Nothing compares to this. Angela B. Montréal, Quebec
