QWORK 16" Stainless Steel Crucible Tongs for Laboratory, Industry

I use these to hold hot water bottles as I fill them with boiled water. They work perfectly for this case and leave my hands far enough away so that escaping air doesn't "burp" hot water onto my hand.

These tongs did not melt or tarnish when used to remove crucibles at high temperature from a 750 celsius furnace. They also work well for removing bismuth crystals from molten bismuth.

I like the way it's so long and grips well

Used for smelting brass. Function well, but flimsy. The shape and size is perfect. I just wish they made it out of thicker or stronger material. Mine bent like a noodle on first use, and I was only using #1 crucible. Had to hammer it back into shape between melts.

Now, I didn't expect to receive a top of the line, cutting edge, titanium pair of tongs. But, regardless of the price, you are liable to hurt yourself (badly) if you use these tongs to carry a crucible of molten metal which is it's intended purpose. Their maximum open size is also smaller than what's stated in the description. I do not recommend using these for forging or casting related purposes. If you need them for laboratory tongs, maybe they'll do alright for beakers and whatnot, but they're not sturdy or reliable, and I would be equally worried about dropping toxic chemicals if that's what I was doing. When it comes to safety, don't cheap out. Make your own crucible tongs or buy a quality pair, you have been warned.

Fungerar väldigt bra för att hantera grafitdeglar. Tången har mer än tillräckligt omfång och går fint. Räfflorna i tippen är bra för att flytta små metallbitar och övrigt hett material man inte vill vidröra. Den leder dock värme bra, så om man använder höga temperaturer krävs handskar.
