A MUST HAVE, especially for larger homes.
You won't sleep through these! EASY to set up. I already have a set of 5, but have a 3 story, 15 room house with an attached studio. I will warn you, I don't see getting 10 years out of these batteries, and 2 of the first ones have already gone dead. So just know that. And then, for reasons I cannot understand, someone stole two of them. One was the dead battery so that joke is on them, but still...So I am adding 3 more. I love that they all connect and work together without having to have expensive hard-wiring done. If the alarm goes off in the back room of the basement, they ALL go off, all over the house. Now, I haven't figured out if they somehow can indicate WHERE the fire is, but having survived a terrible fire in the kitchen while I was sleeping upstairs in my room over the sunroom (which pretty much is almost like not being in the same house because it is so remote), I wouldn't hesitate to just grab the dogs and get out, and worry later about WHERE the fire is. Had it not been for my little Pom, none of us would be here today. At that time, I had the regular First Alert alarms, and I didn't hear it go off at all. But Quiry did and she got me and the rest of the pack out.Right after that, I bought a set of 5 of these. I like that I can test them all at once, with the test button on any one of them. The low battery pings just like the regular 9V alrms, which I was not expecting to hear for another 9 years, but...I have not priced new batteries yet, but something tells me I might swallow my tongue.Over all, though, other than the disappointment in those 2 batteries, I recommend these alarms to anyone. They are ear-piercingly loud, they are very compact so you won't have those unsightly 6" discs hanging over the doors or from the ceiling...most of mine are concealed almost completely by the oversized woodwook in this 150-yr-old historic home. They are very smaill. If you have a large house, I cannot recommend the wifi alarms. Especially in a multi-story home. If a afire had started here in the basement, and all I had was the old-school alarms, by the time I knew the house was on fire, it would be too late to get out. With these, that will NEVER happen.

Wonderful product and fantastic customer service
I purchased a six pack of the XS01-WR interconnected smoke detectors in May of 2021. Installation was easy and they all work beautifully together as they should. They also look very stylish due to their small size and smart design. All was well until just the other night, early July 2024, when everyone was awaken with all six detectors sounding their alarms. Thankfully there was no fire and I quickly turned them off with the RC01 Remote Control I purchased separately. We went back to bed and 30 minutes later we were awaken again with the sound of the smoke detectors. Luckily with the use of the remote when you silence the alarms they all go silent except the unit that first detected the problem. One has to press the remote a second time to silence that last alarm. The alarms are designed that way to help one pinpoint the exact source of the problem. Come to find out the unit that first detected the potential problem became defective because the alarm kept sounding. The next day I emailed [email protected] with a warranty claim. Warranty was 5 years but because I registered the product I got an additional 2 years for a total of 7 years. Considering smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years of use that's a mighty good warranty. I included a small video showing them the problem with the unit as well as my order number which was easy to obtain from the invoice located in my past Amazon purchases. I received a response that same day indicating they would replace it and there would be no need to return the defective unit. I received another email couple hours later saying the replacement was shipped and I would receive it the next day. Well I did receive it the next day and now all six unit are working again as they should. You read so much about how some companies are not only difficult to contact with a warranty problem but are also non-responsive. In my case I can confidently say that is not the case with X-Sense. I like their product and I really appreciate how they back up their product with quick action. Thank you X-Sense!

linked alarms can give a heads up at a distance
I have three alarms which are on different floors though any of these may go off if the others are encountering smoke without the annoying need to have them wired together. Having a simple wifi linkage the devices go off if tested and presumably in the event of the true smoke alarm. At maybe 3" in diamter and fixed with 2 screws to a ceiling the placement is not terribly difficult and certainly a bit less obtrusive to the view. A small button which tests the device also flickers perhaps on a minute's interval to show power and function are yet good. The batteries are said to last for years, but nobody who claims here to note the battery life can claim to do so other than as a guess. The batteries are not buried, but actually can be removed and would appear to be new and to last a long time. Had I addressed the battery life after only a week or so, how accurate a piece of evaluation would that be or anything else here that I have to say?

A nicer looking alternative.
This little guy is great! It's smaller than the ones they've sold forever but it's super loud. It's less obvious on the wall, too. Quick and easy installation, too.I'll be getting more of these for our other rentals

Compact and very convenient 10 year battery.
This smoke detector is very compact and easy to install. The 10 year battery is a great ADVANTAGE and convenience, not worrying about replacing the batteries, especially if you install this in a rental unit or an RV.Recommended.
