I can't claim that it has been solely responsible for the subsequent drop in chassis temperature and lower fan speeds (via PWM)
This was installed to an i5 in a system suffering temperature issues and excessive fan noise involving occasional shut downs and one BSOD incident. I can't claim that it has been solely responsible for the subsequent drop in chassis temperature and lower fan speeds (via PWM) as the board was transferred to another case with more space and better cable management facilities, together with additional front intake fans and an upgraded GPU. However, the core temperature has dropped from an average of approx. 38C to 25C at idle, and from 80C+ to 60C under moderate to high load (RPGs such as Dragon Age 3).For me, the installation was free of issues, largely due to the back-plated design, and ease of access (fitted before board was installed in new case), although that new case has a cut-out section behind the processor mounting, so access would probably not have been an issue anyway.

I installed this cooler for an i5 Haswell processor last night and it is now running as cool as a cucumber with hardly any sound from the fan. It is a huge improvement on the stock cooler. The fan gets quite close to the first memory slot when installed to blow towards the rear of the system case but it should not cause an issue unless you have memory with a very high heat sink. The suppl;ied back plate comes with two tiny pieces of double sided tape applied which are supposed to hold it in place whilst you fit the cooler. Unfortunately, it fell off immediately although this was enough to work around. Also, the supplied syringe of MX4 has a large opening so you have to be careful not to apply too much to the three heatpipes, which are in direct contact with the processor's heat spreader when installed. Neither of these is a major issue. This is an excellent cooler and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.Overall, it is an excellent cooler and I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent item, quieter than a mouse lol
Excellent item, quieter than a mouse lol. Totally happy with item but i'm using it on a i3 2100 so i think its bit of overkill. Runs smooth as anything easy to fit onto motherboard (as long as you know what you doing!) mine is fitted to a Asus P8P67-M Motherboard Socket LGA 1155 so you have to uninstall motherboard from case and basically bolt the heatsink onto it but on the plus side no more push pins instead it screws on :).Hope my comments above help oh while i remember my cpu is now between 40-45 degrees on average and my computer is used a lot so judge for yourself.

Slightly difficult to fit but still a good choice for a cpu cooler
I wanted the Arctic Freezer i11 to replace another cpu cooler where the fan had failed. I found this slightly difficult to fit on an Intel 1155 motherboard as the back plate had to be held in place whilst you lined up the screws through the holes around the cpu and screwed them in. Not that easy to do on your own but would be much easier if you had someone to help you or if you were fitting this before placing the board in the PC case. The cooler does the job well and is much better than the cpu stock heat-sink and fan.

Does exactly what it says on the tin
Spent a lot of time online reading all the comparisons finally decided to go for this one. Glad I did as it works well, keep my computer cool as well as quiet and within budget.

Love this Heat sink
I have always gone to Arctic for coolers and this one doesn’t disappoint. I didn’t know before I bought it that you can in fact mount it in any direction you want, so I have it blowing up through the top air vents instead of the traditional exhaust vent.It comes with everything you need (including plenty of thermal paste) and the fan is nice and quite. All in all does an excellent job.

Compatibility problem
This cooler comes in two parts namely the cooler itself, which is a standard unit, and an adapter. I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the cooler as the adapter that came with it would not fit an Intel LG1700 motherboard despite Amazon stating that it would. Buying one of these from Amazon is like buying a pair of trousers without being able to specify a size. There appear to be a number of revisions which are stated on the box. The one I received had no revision number and appears to be old stock as it also mentioned that it was compatible with LG1150 and one other older board. If you order one of these you take pot luck whether it will fit or not.

Looks odd but an efficient cooler
This CPU cooler is truly amazing. After replacing my stock fan that come with my i5 core processor there was a massive decrease in CPU temperature. My system used to idle at approximately 35 - 40 degrees, how it idle's on average at 20 - 25 degrees.Mounting this cooler is a little tricky as you need to install a plate under the motherboard for a 1150 socket type, but well worth the time and effort. The airflow direction for the fan is through the heat sink, always make sure you get your airflow direction in your tower flowing in the direction that is most efficient, this is easy with this cooler as you can mount it in one of four directions.
