Basic Principles of Drug Discovery and Development

Read a lot of books on medicinal chemistry over the past 30 years, and this book is underrated in my opinion. It is well written, well organized, thorough, and the author provides some excellent examples to help support key learnings and topics the author is covering. The illustrations are also nicely laid out. Nice book and would be complimentary to some of the other good med chem books out there like Wermuth's and Kerns and Di's book Drug-Like Properties.

The topic is very broad and the author delves at sufficient depth to prove the reader a comprehensive picture of the drug discovery and development processes. The prose is clear. The figures (chemical drawings, assorted photographs, cartoons and quantitative graphs) are excellent.
