It also uses really positive language around the potty, and is really encouraging. 10/10 great for starting the conversation with your toddler about the potty. Review: Cute Book (and my story of how I got my 3 year old son to potty train in a half of a day!) - My big one loves it (3) and my little one (20 months) loves to read with us and look under all the flaps. Here is a tip mommies! About a month ago, my son was 3 years and 2 months. He didn't want to go on the potty. One of his friends came over and his mom and I had a cup of coffee. She told me that when her son was 2 1/2, she took him to day care one day and they told her that the next day to bring in SIX PAIRS OF UNDIES AND SIX FULL CHANGES OF CLOTHES because there would be no more diapers. They said pull ups don't work bc the kids just think they are diapers. The trick is to make them feel the wet. It gets cold on them and they don't like it. I was scared to ruin my rugs and furniture but I figured what the heck! So, the next day, I put him in his undies that I had eagerly bought on his 2nd birthday (hahahaha). He peed in them and came to be devasted "mommy!!! I am WET!!!! I need a bath! I am STICKY!!" I put him in the bath and threw his clothes in our other tub (figured that I would let a few sets pile up and then do a load). When he got out, he got fresh undies and fresh clothes, of course. He tried to ask for a "diapee" and I explained "nope this is it from now on. You can go on the potty and stay dry or poop and pee in your clothes and get sticky and cold and wet". About an hour later, my husband walked into our bathroom and he was SITTING ON THE TOILET WITH A POOP IN THE POTTY! We wiped his butt. Told him that we were so proud (he loves this and now asks every time "are you proud?". He got to pick a treat out of the treat bucket (left over Halloween Candy, lol) and he gets to stick a sticker on my wall in my bathroom (it is shiny paint so easy to remove). And that was it. He went pee and poop all on his own. I had my hubby teach him how to push his "winkie" to shoot in the toilet. He goes pee on the big potty and poop on his little potty on the floor. He comes and gets up (carrying the poop in the removable potty bowl - which is totally gross) and he is so proud and we go in and wipe him and clean the potty after he dumps it in his big potty. We did make one mistake. He had gymnastics the 3rd day and we put him in pullups bc we didn't want him to poop on the other little gymnasts :)!!! This kind of backed us up and he was wetting his underpants a bunch of times a day for a few days but we just didn't make a big deal about it and he eventually chose to stay dry on his own. He still makes mistakes but he knows where his undies are so he will strip and throw his wet clothes in the bathtub in his bathroom (he gets embarrased I think and doesn't want to be ridiculed for a mistake - which i get so it is fine with me). and then he goes and gets his underpants from his closet shelf and puts them on. He does fine at night. I am posting this for the mommies who are buying this book because they have talked about potty training with their little one but they aren't budging. I really hope this helps!!! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions :) [email protected] Good Luck and I Wish You Lots of Dry Underpants!!!! GOD Bless you :)

perfect for introducing toddlers to the world of potty training
P is for Potty! (Sesame Street) (Lift-the-Flap) book is a delightful children's book that is perfect for introducing toddlers to the world of potty training. As someone who has recently gone through the potty training process with my own child, I can say that this book is a fantastic resource that makes the process fun and engaging for little ones. The book is beautifully illustrated with vibrant colors and familiar Sesame Street characters, which immediately captures a child's attention. The lift-the-flap feature is particularly engaging for toddlers, who love to interact with their books. What I particularly love about this book is that it tackles the subject of potty training in a way that is not intimidating for children. It breaks down the process into simple steps and encourages children to feel proud of their accomplishments along the way. The language used in the book is simple and easy for children to understand, and it also includes helpful tips for parents. The book reinforces positive behavior and rewards children for their efforts, which is a great way to motivate them throughout the potty training process. Overall, I would highly recommend P is for Potty! (Sesame Street) (Lift-the-Flap) book to any parent who is about to embark on the potty training journey with their child. It's a fun and engaging resource that makes the process much easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Colorful and Celebratory
Even if your kids are unfamiliar with Sesame Street, such as the case with my kids, this book will be an easy one to add into the "potty training reading pile." We've had it for several years and used it for all things potty training. The flaps make it interactive, colorful illustrations make it fun, and the theme of peer motivation empowers the older siblings to be involved. I love how the book emphasizes the importance of not shaming the child in learning for having an accident and instead focuses on celebrating the wins. My biggest downside with the book (hence the four star rating) is a personal preference - too many words. I usually shorten it and cut the paragraphs in half to fit the needs of my kids.

Interactive and fun!
We love everything about this potty book. My son will be two next month and he asks me to read this to him every day. He had anxiety and sitting on his little potty so I stopped pushing. After reading this book EVERY day, he's started putting himself on the potty (pants on, practice) he's no longer frightened of the potty. He also likes to use his little people figurines and put them on the lift a flap potties. 💖 And the verbiage is amazing, it talks about Elmo being big enough for the big boy potty, Alby is the one learning to use the potty transitioning from diapers to pull ups, and it talks about baby JoJo who's a tiny baby who's still fully in diapers. This is the best potty book. Buy it you will not regret it! ❤️🚽

We used this to train our toddler. He was really scared at the first but with this book he was comfortable enough to go to the loo on his own. The book is very interactive and sticks to the point. The best thing about this book was that it engaged our child where it was an activity where he always came and looked at the book.

This has proved an excellent purchase for encouraging my son to use the potty. He loves Elmo. Having a story that centres on using the potty somehow brought it to life for him and he's been much more excited to use it since. He often chooses to read this story and enjoys peeking under all the flaps. He has also been able to relate to Albie, saying "like me" when it talks about wearing pull ups now and learning to use the potty. The only drawback is the American term 'diaper', though I found it no problem to just read out 'nappy' instead.

This book didn’t really help much with actual potty training, but my little boy absolutely enjoyed it! It has lots of flip-flaps that kept him busy and entertained for a long time. The colorful pages make it feel more like a toy than just a book. Even though it didn’t make potty training easier, it turned out to be one of his favorite books to play with and explore. Great quality and very engaging for toddlers!
