quiet, fast, clean, super easy to use. Udate: durable and trouble-free
I love the focus and intensity this company seems to show in making this affordable version of a unimodal grinder. The design and construction, the quality of the individual parts, the sensible choices they've made for materials. It must be one of the best values you can get in coffee grinding.I've been using this grinder for single loads for espresso (using 3 or 4 on the indicator as I dial in); it's quick and quiet and easy for this. I'm sure it would work for larger amounts too if you fit a larger cup for collecting grounds. Seems to have very little retention and grounds look very even. It's easy to take apart for cleaning, though the simple pass through of the vertical flat burrs seems quite self-cleaning.I use a 58mm portafilter that fits and sits evenly on the arms. (I've used a 54mm portafilter too, and it's not hard to hold steadily in place while it fills.) I use a tall funnel on the portafilter because the grounds tend to be tossed to the back left side somewhat--it doesn't have a long chute through which the grounds exit, so it's not as reliably aimed straight down into your cup or basket. That's the only con I've noticed and it only applies if you fill straight into a portafilter basket. Not a concern of mine since I use a taller funnel anyway for settling the grounds so this doesn't really add a step for me. It comes with a stainless steel dosing up that has its own stainless steel lid. This dosing cup is sized right for the 58mm portafilter so you can grind into that and fill your basket from the dosing cup.Because of a timing issue, I paid for the expedited shipping and they had this grinder to me from Korea in three days, if I recall correctly. Well packed.UPDATE March 2025: still functioning flawlessly after a couple years, same titanium burr set as new. It really makes a difference that grind size is not limited to the 20 steps. I frequently have it set between detents--between the steps--and it does vary grind size set that way so that is much more adjustable than indicated. I find I can have three different grind sizes in between the numbered, notched, detents. I appreciate how easy it is to change grind size by turning the knob on front. I use a bag of beans that will last a few days and when the beans are fresh I'll use a slightly less fine grind, and then use a slightly finer grind a few days later--all these adjustments within one or two of the numbered, notched, detents. So when I'm standing at the espresso machine watching the head pressure fall a little below what I prefer, I just reach over and turn the Urbanic's front knob slightly to a finer grind for the next shot. Not everyone will want to adjust grind size that often or that finely, but the Urbanic makes is so easy and uncomplicated to make these kinds of dynamic adjustments.

250W Motor makes this grinder amazing.
This grinder has a good reputation for good reasons. In my opinion it is one of the best values out there right now.It gives super consistent results and has more than adequate power to get through even harder lightly roasted beans. It is super quiet and easy to clean. I love the color and the trap door on the hopper. A very well thought out and attractive device. This is my 5th grinder and is definitely the best I have owned. It is so quiet I don't wake up my family when I make early morning coffee. One thing to note - this is not really the best grinder for very coarse grinding (french press) - this is because of the physically limits of the burrs and housing - but that's not a negative to me - I generally grind for pour-over and espresso. It works like a champ for those applications. Also it very easy to change beans and clean the grinder/burrs. I love that you don't need any tools at all. I am very pleased with my purchase. Also the shipping was wicked fast!!! Just a few days in my case.

Quiet Ground
I started out with a Shardor sold here on Amazon and it does a good job of grinding my roasts but I wanted something less noisy. This noise is more like a purr where the Shardor is a scream. The grinding takes place in seconds and is awesomely consistent. I've had a few beans get stuck in the hopper and have to knock them loose while grinding and the exit port is a round piece of silicone that collects the grind. The grind shakes out of the metal cup pretty easily and after tapping against the silicone port most of the grind goes in the cup, but I seem to still get a few flakes onto the round recessed base that collects the grind making it difficult to keep clean. I have to say that it looks quite appealing on my shelf and the green color is boss. The Shardor was less messy and the grind from it's container never gets stuck inside either but the noise of grinding would wake the dead. This grinder is so quiet and quick, I'm disappointed that it takes so little time to grind, wanting to experience a little more umph.

not very coarse for my French press. I like how it’s relatively quiet and fast though

Amazing grinder.
We bought this grinder to replace a very old conical burr grinder that was noisy and inconsistent in the grind results. This unit here is elegantly designed with a bit of retro style but high quality key components like motor, grinder housing and ‘wear parts’ while not being overly heavy. As others commented there is a bit of torque jump when it starts up but not too bad and we are used to it now and dont think much about it now. The unit is quiet, we really like the hopper door where we can preload our measured quantity then start up the grinder and after its up to speed we open the trap door and it grinds very consistently…. Takes a while to dial in the exact grind we want for our brew but once set we dont have to adjust again. We clean once a week although right now theres no buildup and its more of a check on all the parts being ok than any residual to brush out….Anyway would recommend this to others. We got the green one which we love the retro color. Shipping was exceptionally quick considering it comes from Korea.

Nice grinder
Pretty nice, but was disappointed that the base is not also metal. I'm able to grind much finer with this than my previous burr grinder so I think it has a really consistent grind size. Most of the unit feels like better quality than many things these days.
