Sturdy but costly and Not that light weight 💥
This review is based on my experience using the Benro Slim carbon fibre tripod and Manfrotto 055 tripods that I own. I bought it from another online camera shop since the it was about ₹6300 cheaper there. Pros ✔ The tripod is reasonably sturdy with all legs extended and centre column extended. ✔ The tripod is surprisingly sturdy with only 3 legs extended and centre column not extended. ✔ Very impressive load capacity of 9 kilograms for a travel tripod. This is same capacity as my full size Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 tripod. ✔ The low profile head provides good stability when centre column is not extended. ✔ Supports arca swiss plates with some caveats. For shorter arca swiss plates the two antislip screws needs to be removed. ✔ The single ball head lock is very useful when tracking birds or animals. ✔ Handled my AF Nikkor 300mm F4 on D7200 easily, should be good with 70-200 2.8 lenses. Cons ❌ Not that lightweight, it feels quite heavy in hand for its size. ❌ Very expensive for product made in China. Made in Italy tripods are much cheaper. ❌ The strap provided on the tripod cover is more like a handle, you need to buy a new strap to carry it on your shoulders. ❌ You cannot pan or rotate the head unless you extend the centre column. ❌ No panorama plane lock, since ball has only one lock. ❌ The provided phone mount is a joke and pretty much useless. ❌ I found fine scratches and glue residue, not something expected from a product that costs this much. ❌ Not a universal camera plate. ❌ The coating on aluminium parts is really bad quality and scratches easily. Other Caveats ❗ The base plate is tightened using hex key not a thumb screw ❗ Do not leave the Hex Keys/wrench and holder on the tripod leg they will fall easily. Conclusion – I feel the price unreasonably high, should be less than half of it. There is no other tripod that packages all the feature into a compact solution like Peak Design does. But there are tripods that are much cheaper and lighter than this one. If you can live with another 300 odd grams you can go for the aluminium version. For those who can afford the hefty price tag, this is good tripod that can handle a decent load capacity. Another option, if you do not want a "Jack of All trades" tripod, is to buy multiple tripods, which together won't cost as high as this. My all other tripods (4 of them) together do not cost as much as this. If you are really inclined to buy it, I would suggest getting hands on with one before buying.

Very impressive tripod, lightweight and well thought out. Highly recommend this if you are doing any travelling.

This Peak Design travel tripod exceeded my expectations. I chose the carbon fibre version on a Black Friday sale. It has all the feel of my larger, more cumbersome tripod that will now be relegated to the shelf. It is also solid enough in portrait position that I no longer need an L bracket which is a big plus to me. Reviews of the unique ball head may vary but I find it excellent and easy to position. Lots of flexibility for different heights and the legs are so easy to open and close. Other than a premium price, there is nothing to complain about and lots to love for practical usage. Try to find it on sale for best value but otherwise, it is highly recommended!

This tripod has been reviewed in minute detail in many reviews. The basic feature important to me is that it takes minimum space in my luggage and weighs a minimum amount for a travel tripod. It supports my Nikon Z7 with 70-200 mm f2.8 lens and all smaller ones easily. The quality is outstanding which matters to me. The ball head is not the best in the world, but doesn’t need to be.
