This is NOT a USB 3.0 hub it can only work at USB 2 speeds
I purchased this item to use with a very small PC to connect it to an external SSD hence the need for USB 3.0 speeds (max 5 giga bits per second). I have exhaustively tested the device with industry standard test software and confirm that it is only able to work at USB 2 speeds. I have not yet disassembled the device but I am sure that I will find that it contains 2 four port hub chips that the manufacturer only states that they are USB 2 capable. I am a Chartered Electronics engineer and fully qualified to make these comments and I am disappointed that this item has been totally misrepresented by the sales company YEXIN-eu (ie claiming 5Gb per sec performance). I can recognise USB 3.0 when I need to my review is for the many people who cant and find tech to be a mine field.

Sweet and Functional
I love this little thing. Nowadays, most pc's cases are kept minimal and with just one or two USB ports on the front, mostly for gaming rigs. I've always struggled to keep plugging things in and out and as a music composer, I have lots of bits and bobs plugged in. Along with the usual phone charger and camera, I have plenty of other controllers and peripherals running. I don't like my mic and camera always on, so it's great to just have little switches when I need to make a Skype call or something and simply turn off when I'm done with no interruption to any other power. Those switches feel robust (like a PSU's power switch, but miniaturized), it looks pretty on your desk with the blue lights and it's small form and it just works well. The only con for some is maybe the lead that comes with it is a little small. It's perfect for my setup and I got all my leads tucked away neatly with it plugged into the top of my case, but you might need to buy a slightly longer lead if your PC is less accessible to your desk.

Already very useful
I've only had this USB hub a few days and it's already proving to be a really useful tool, I doubt I can go without it now. I have multiple drives and USB sticks that I use every day in my job out of the office and at home office too. I do video editing, photography, graphics etc and have everything backed up on various drives which are portable. That in itself lads me to the issue of plugging things in on my comoyterif I am working from more than one drive at once... This where the multi hub comes in. I especially like the fact it has individual switches so you can plug everything in and keep them switched off until needed... No point in having external drives just running for no reason. Additionally the action of plugging and unpligging drives from my computer everyday will eventually wear on the computer ports, not to mention that my actual tower is awkwardly placed so the hub can just sit on my del which is much easier. I am very happy :)

Breaks after a short while
Nice piece of kit that does what it is supposed to do without any fuss.UPDATE:Seemed to be very good initially but trouble started after a very few months with switches not working properly so had to go back to old unit which still works find after some years daily use. A bit disappointing.

The 5 stars was before I tried using it. Can't recommend it.
On the hub it says, "SuperSpeed", but that is not what it is. When I plugged in my galaxy tablet for about 12 hours it was still on the same level of charge next morning. I tested it with two tablets, three phones and a Kindle Paperwhite. Each screen showed a message, "slow charge, use charger that came with this device". It wasn't slow, it was non existent. As a rule I use any charger cable so long as it is either C type or mini USB and plugged into the power it works fine but I wanted to tidy up all the mess of leads I thought this hub was the answer. It looks very nice but if you are using it to plug in your chargers it doesn't work. There was no paperwork, or user manual to inform of this, If it wasn't such a hassle I would return it. Great disappointment.

A good system but needs external DC power to make it really useful
First class service. The product is exactly as described and is very high quality, but needs external DC power to make it really useful for connecting things like keyboards, mice, or other devices needing power.

Good to start
Was a great splitter to begin with but after a few weeks, its just stopped working, I checked in multiple devices and the USB cable just stopped responding
