Like many other people reviewing this product, I came to Amazon in, more or less, a state of desperation trying to find something to help me with an extremely awful case of hemorrhoids. I'm 47, have had an occasional case of hemorrhoids flare up over the years, but I was normally able to deal with them by using a common over the counter product like Preparation H, trying to take in a little extra fiber, and just being gentle with that area. But, for whatever reason, this time around the problem just got worse and I've been battling my hemorrhoids for the last 6 months or so. Like many others, it has been a bit of a nightmare. The pain of trying to go to the bathroom, along with bloody stools, and the constant itching and discomfort, was horrible.Up until this product, I had tried just about everything I could think of. Some of these products included Preparation H suppositories and creams, triple antibiotic ointments, Vaseline, Lotions, Aloe Vera, and Desitin, among others. Sometimes I'd get a little relief, but it was only temporary and I never came close to totally eliminating the problem.I was at the point of heading to the doctor as a last resort and thought I'd just see what was on Amazon, thinking maybe there would be something I hadn't tried yet. That's how I stumbled onto this product. Like many people, I'm about as skeptical as they come, and although I had some hope that the bold claims users were making about this product might be true, I stayed very cautiously optimistic.Well, it's been a little over a week now, and I am now one of the believers! This stuff is truly amazing! Even after a day of using it, I kind of felt like it was helping a little, but I figured maybe that was just wishful thinking. But, after 2 days, I could already tell that things were improving. After about 3 days of use, I noticed that all the the bleeding had completely gone away. And, by a week, I am pretty much back to normal. I am blown away with how well this product worked.I have to give J. Alvarez credit from his/her review on 12/30/09. I used the same strategy he/she suggested as it seemed to look very logical to me. Thus, I bought a container of Tuck's Medicated Pads: TUCKS MED PADS 100 EACH, and the Sugar-Free Medamucil Pysillium Fiber Supplement: Metamucil Multi-Health Fiber by Meta, Orange Smooth Sugar Free 114 Teaspoons 23.3 Oz. I took a serving (2 teaspoons) of the Medamucil 2 or 3 times a day - usually in the morning and in the evening, and sometimes in the afternoon as well. I do think it helped to soften the stools a bit and just keep me more regular (that is, going more frequently and less hard). The Tucks pads are also great for when you go to the bathroom, or really anytime you are feeling a little itchy. The witch hazel does work to help with the itchiness.Basically, what I did was use this product at least 3 times a day, and after every time I went to the bathroom. After my bowel movement, I would wipe very gently with a baby wipe to do the bulk of the cleaning, and then use a few Tucks pads to finish the job -- again, very gently. Then, I would apply about a 3/4" strip of this product to my area. This along with the Medamucil worked amazingly well. But, I truly give this product the bulk of the credit. It's great because it's not as greasy and oily as the Preparation H type products out there. It is still an ointment, and it goes on smoothly, but it never gets wet, nor does it give you that slimy feeling in your butt. And, it also has a nice soothing and cooling effect to it, which I really like a lot. It's become a little bit of a joke in some of these reviews, regarding the smell, but it's not bad at all. It's hard to describe, but it has an herbal odor mixed with a kind of menthol or eucalyptus smell. It is a little different, but let's be honest -- if it gets rid of your hemorrhoids, do you really care? I didn't.But, the bottom line is that this product really works amazingly well, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're like I was, in a lot of pain and really suffering, not knowing what to do, I would absolutely give this a shot. I can't guarantee that it will work for everyone, but it worked exceptionally well for me, and it sure beats contemplating surgery. I'm back to life with no pain, and not thinking about my rear-end constantly.

Yes, it feels like putting tiger balm on your anus. If you are at the point that sitting is unbearable it's a welcome relief. This product just works. Bad hemmeroids are gone within 1 to 2 days. I don't know how this product has not single handedly taken over the hemmeroid industry. No in store product has ever gotten even close to being this effective.The tiger balm feeling helps tremendously and immediately with itch or burn. The swelling is what takes around a full day or two days of application, atleast twice a day. I use this both externally and as a suppository if needed.Feeling - if you don't know what tiger balm feels like, hard to explain, but basically menthol - like strong gum or the cold part of icy hot. It has a cool sensation that lightly tingles. It's relieving. Works well for both itch and soreness. Cream feels Vaseline-ish. Spreads easily.Cons - each tube comes with a package for suppository insertion. These tubes are way too long unless you have hemmeroids in your rectum. A bit of product waste from this. 2, Vaseline texture, you need to wipe off before trying to wash off. I have had it get on my underwear before but it washes out fine. 3, strong scent. At first I worried I smelled like it but I asked some honest people around me and they said no.Price/longevity: I've had it for months and just finished one tube, but it's an acute occurrence for me. I was concerned about the price a bit but once I saw how little you have to use it's absolutely worth it.Ingredients - I researched the ingredients, I read that they were all safe for "internal" ingestion and why they work. The price is actually surprising because it has some very expensive ingredients.Overall, never buying another product as long as this one is available.

After having tried traditional hemorrhoid relief options (phenylephrine, witch hazel, hydrocortisone), I was desperate, so did a Reddit deep dive and discovered this ointment.It. WORKS! I’m a nurse so I was naturally skeptical of snake-oil sounding home remedies but I gave it a go. I used it two or three times a day for about 2 weeks and my marble-sized, painful, bleeding hemorrhoid disappeared!Now I will warn that it will stain your undies, so I’d recommend a liner while you’re using this. I used a makeup cotton round between the cheeks and it worked perfectly with little to no transfer to my underwear.It also has a mild Icy Hot feel when you put it on so definitely use gloves, but it’s so worth it to not have the constant pain of a hemorrhoid! This is my new holy grail for hemorrhoid relief!

Holly cow if you use this before you go out take a shower. It is the stinkiest product ever. However it worked and did what it was supposed to do! No sexy time with the smell of this. That’s for surge.Minus 2 point for smell but 4 for working really fast!
