Great product if you have the wherewithal
It does exactly what you expect it to. Stick a pealed banana in the end and make perfect thin slices. While the handle is made from plastic, the slicing part is sharp metal. Don’t stick your fingers inside! I’ve found it can slice anything that’s thin like a banana. Small strawberries for instance. You might think it’s silly and expensive for what you get, but if you think outside the box, it’s really a good durable utility. Cleaning is quick, you won’t accidentally cut a knife into your hand holding the banana or other small foodstuffs. It does rely on your strength though. It may not be for the elderly or infirm.

Sharp!!
This is sharp enough to cut through bananas but my hand started hurting as I kept squeezing to finish enough banana slices to fill the freeze dryer.
