Excellent quality for a lifetime of real world use
The Wüsthof Classic Ikon series are some of the very best professional knives. The Icon series have ergonomic POM handles with double bolsters. I particularly like the semi bolstered blades that makes sharpening the full length of the blade easier than a full bolster. They are designed to be kept sharp with just a regular polish with a steel. Precision made, nothing flashy, just excellent quality for a lifetime of real world use.

Good quality
Bought this for my son who works in hospitality and needs his own knives. He likes it and thats what I wanted having used it myself its a good light weight knife an all round chopping knife happy with purchase.

Very impressed
I purchased this knife in January this year and I did lots of research looking for the perfect blade for me. I trained and worked as a chef for many years but have changed career since and I always took great care and pride in my knives. Since leaving kitchen work I haven't been able to justify spending vast amounts on quality knives so have had to put up with a standard set given as a wedding gift fifteen years ago. So it goes without saying, I was really looking forward to trying this blade out and it didn't disappoint. The balance of the knife is perfect and the edge is extremely sharp, I found it keeps its edge for quite a long time and I have been sharpening it about every three months. After nine months of use I can give this product a five star review and look forward to purchasing my next Wüstof knife.

A great addition
Having bought the Chefs & paring knife combo, I was very happy to receive this as a gift, it makes a great addition to my knife rack & looks great too! Just waiting for my 4 stage sharpener to arrive today, after nearly a years use without honing or sharpening it has lost it’s edge - the 2 stage sharpener I bought for my other knives is the wrong angle for this.

A superb kitchen knife
This knife was for my son who likes to cook a lot and would like to be a chef. He finds the sharpness a boon when preparing meals, It's comfortable to hold and we'll balanced. He has 4 so of this quality. The meal was great!

Alle Erfahrungen unter 4 Sternen würde ich einfach nur reklamieren und zurück schicken. Mir wurde das Messer als guter Allrounder in der Küche von Hannes Arendholz empfohlen und ich habe bei dem Preis und zumal ich kein ausgebildeter Koch bin, nichts auszusetzen. Ich will mir bei Gemüse, Beilagen, Fleisch, Fisch oder Kräutern keine Gedanken machen, welches Messer ich verwende. Natürlich hacke ich mit so einem Messer keine Knochen. Wenn das Messer, pfleglich behandelt, jetzt noch einige Jahre treu bleibt, gibt's noch den sechsten Stern.

Love my new knife - replaced a cheaper Santoku that stood out from the rest of my Wüstof Ikon set. SUPER sharp and well balanced. Good weight and comfortable feel. Worth the investment. None of my ikon knives have rusted or show any damage after multiple years of heavy use. Worth the investment.

Great German version of a Japanese Santuko knife. A must have for any chef to fine-cut vegetables. The Classic version features a forged blade with full tang.
