WORKS GREAT SO FAR
Bought for my 95 chevy k1500, had to clock it, but otherwise fit perfectly and fairly easy to install. Had to buy 2 4ft 6gauge cables and 2 side terminal extenders to hook up to the battery. Just installed yesterday, working great so far.

Works great , but has a loud whine
Bought this Powermaster 47861 Alternator and installed in my 94 gmc k3500 7.4 (454) . It has been on the truck for 600 miles . It charges a solid 14+ amps at all loads and speeds and at idle . But it whines , at all times , at all speeds . It is loud , can hear it from 20 yards away . I can't complain about the charging performance , it does a fine job , time will tell , I don't drive the truck much , 600 miles or so in 7 months , mostly to truck shows in non winter weather . Thing really really whines , like a turbocharger . Have to call Powermaster to check on this whining , done so since Day 1 of install.

Don’t waste your time or money
Can’t keep up with my truck with the headlight and AC on. No huge stereo system, no underdrive pulley, no high powered aftermarket Offroad lights. My FACTORY 1994 k1500 alternator was able to keep up with demand at a rating of a 105amps, bearings started making noise so I thought I was replacing it with a quality upgrade. I put new brushes and bearing in my FACTORY unit and reinstalled that to return this paperweight

It's pretty good.
Pretty good unit, just make sure everything is as per their instructions and you'll be fine. If you run any power draining accessories like the taurus fan it's probably not a good idea to run any underdrive pulley setups otherwise your lights will dim at low idle in traffic.

Long great for the long haul.
*Updated* Not worth the money. Just went back to AC Delco. The voltage regulator on this alternator didn’t hold up long. I started noticed issues soon after install, but I suspected it was some old wiring giving me issues. Sure enough I got to a point my battery wasn’t charging consistently and I had the occasional misfire, but no codes were being thrown. Last thing in my list to change was this alternator. Sure enough, truck fired right up, power restored, good voltage all around. Maybe I got a one off bad one, but I bought in 2019 and have put less than 10,000 miles on my truck since.

Gotta love it!
THIS THING IS GREAT !!! I was on my 3rd "stock" amperage alternator when I purchase this. At times, when I stopped at a traffic light or stop sign I could tell that my headlights would dim due to the lack of performance. Once I installed this alternator, even my Wife says that she can't see any change in the lights at idle/stop. Do follow the instructions and use a heavier wire to the battery than the stock one. I used a replacement battery cable for the job. That may be overkill, but it came premade with the connections I needed. Just be sure to get a longer battery post bolt if necessary (for the new cable). Also, I notice that my battery seems to stay hotter whenever I let my truck sit for a while. That is probably just because the battery charge is maintained so much better than before. I did have to "Reclock" the housing to fit my 1994 GMC K1500, but it was easier than expected -- follow the directions !!!
