OE Replacement Dodge Pickup Grille Assembly (Partslink Number CH1200245)

This grille would not fit my 2001 dodge ram 1500 the side mounts were not there and the grille would not fit around my original frame. I had to send it back very disappointed.OK I read some of the other posts, I drilled some holes, and finagled several things and I did get it to work, it does not fit the side mounts, however you can use the bottom part of the grill frame (truck holder) to drill holes and screw it to the metal frame of the truck, I then took the side mounts to hold the grill honeycombs in place by bending them in onto the plastic honeycomb.Now with that being said the grill was to tall so I had to adjust my hood latch for the hood to shut, there was no hardware and the honeycombed parts were not attached to the grill very well at all, thank you side mounts.. Now I went through all this because the ones for my truck at the dealer ship was 800 dollars for the silver and 900 dollars for the black. So all in all I can live with the il fitting grill for now. So with that I am changing my rating to a three. Sorry guys instructions would be real nice as well.

Fit nice, If you don’t already have a sport second GEN dodge then a few of the bolt holes are not going to line up, two on the hood you were either have to drill a new hole or take the stood out and on the bottom you’d have to get a new grill frame if you wanted to bolts up all of the bottom pieces but me and my dad since it was so tight we pushed the grill almost inside the frame and used some if you don’t already have a sport second GEN dodge then a few of the boat holes are not going to lineup, two on the hood you either have to drill a new hole or take the stud out and on the bottom you’d have to get a new grill frame if you wanted to bolts up all of the bottom pieces but me and my dad since it was so tight we pushed the grill almost inside the frame and used some zip ties on the bottom, very sturdy

Good quality aftermarket item. Black honeycomb was not held in the best but was easily fixed. Fits great and packing was actually overkill and done well! My purchase was an open box item at a discount from amazon and I found nothing wrong with it. NOTE: WILL NOT FIT DIRECTLY IN PLACE OF A BASE MODEL, FLAT BOTTOM OR CHROME GRILLE. THIS IS A SPORT MODEL GRILL WITH THE CURVED BOTTOM. IT REQUIRES A SPORT MODEL GRILLE MOUNTING BRACKET AND IS MADE TO FIT THE SPORT MODEL BUMPER, NOT CHROME! I was well aware of this when I purchased my item but that seems to be a complaint from other reviewers, Know what you want, and know what you need. Great as sport model replacement or front end conversion piece( to sport style) Very happy with mine.

To settle the confusion from other reviews...This is a sport model grille, it will only fit 1999-2001 unless you have a 4th gen bumper, or a sport model bumper on your non sport truck. It is different than a non-sport (1998 and older) grille so order to what your truck is. THIS IS JUST THE GRILLE FYI, no support bracket, no instructions, no hardware. It’s pretty straight forward to replace.For those doing a 4th gen bumper or sport model bumper swap on your non-sport model truck (1998 and older), minor modifications to the grille are required (sport model utilizes more stud holes that need to be cut out, see pictures) but fits perfect. Quality control could be improved as other reviews stated. A hot glue gun will fix the worst of the problems (if any) you receive with this grille. 5 stars.

Nice grill! This is a Sport model grill, so don’t expect it to fit your standard second gen Dodge. This is perfect in combination with a 4th gen bumper swap as I intend to do. Don’t let the bad reviews related to fitment deter you... those people bought the wrong grill for their application. Bare plastic, but perfect for a paint match application. Great quality SPORT grille. As stated in other reviews this is for a SPORT truck or a 4th gen bumper retrofit. The sport grilles are larger and shaped differently than the non-sport models. To install in a non-sport application I used the frame from my original grille and grafted this one into it.In regards to the loose epoxy in inserts- maybe they are responding to the reviews or maybe mine was just unusually well glued, but my grille inserts were VERY well glued in. So we’ll in fact that I gave up trying to remove them prior to color matching.

Seemed to be a good product, however someone needs to go in and change the description to include "SPORT ONLY, DOES NOT FIT STANDARD 2ND GEN VEHICLES". After I got it unpackaged and had serious fitting issues, I went back into the reviews, and have seen this was a prior issue. However not everyone reads product reviews before they order. Hope this gets changed soon!

Overall, the grille is solid. But, if you plan on keeping the honeycomb center, better add some epoxy, as mine were loose.Was not a problem for me since I did some aluminum billet bars. Literally just punch out the honeycomb, and then go on installing the billet bars
