I actually use this as a permanently plumbed dog bowl in my kitchen.Its very useful to have a plug on the bottom as this allows very easy cleaning.However, the plastic stop cock mechanism sometimes doesn't fully close, despite adjusting it many many times. This means the bowl occasionally continues to slowly fill, flowing out of the screw holes that fix it to the wall. This may not be a problem outside with livestock, it just wastes water - but for me, this will flood my house.Would not recommend.
