This vacuum is amazing!! It has been years since I had a small vacuum like this and I needed one for my stairs. I had Dirt Devil long ago so I read some of the reviews. Not good reviews so I began my search. The Eureka EasyClean Deluxe Lightweight Handheld Vacuum Cleaner seemed to be the one most selected as the best in class. There is a red one, a blue one, and a yellow one. All with different item numbers. Here is an explanation. Red Model 72A - Same as the other models except Includes additional oval dusting brush along with a crevice tool. Blue Model 71C - Same as 72A except no additional oval dusting brush (includes a crevice tool). Yellow Model 71B - Same as 72A except yellow, not blue. This little guy is VERY powerful. It's amazing what It can pickup. It is made VERY well out of high impact plastic and is balanced in your hand when holding it. It is also bagless and empties easily. The Riser Visor is not sales BS. It really works. It's amazingly simple and functional. I could not recommend this enough. It is very well designed, well made and 100% functional.

Happy Trails and Puppy Dog Tails
Fabulous machine - love my dogs again! Easy to use, picks up dust and dog hair with ease - great continuous suction even as refuse collector fills - a little noisy, but then quitter than barking puppies - much more efficient then previous hand vacs I have used (Dirt Devil).

The BEST handheld vacuum ever
Powerful and competent, this is easily the best hand held vacuum i have ever used. Yeah it's a bit heavy, but that just means it is strong & sturdy. Yeah it has a cord, but it is long and you get much better performance than the cordless chargeable variety. At under $50, this seems to be an essential household item. So, if your criteria is NOT cheap plastic cordless machines, then this purchase is a no-brainer. It doesn't need many bells and whistles, but it does have a variable brush cover for both horizontal and vertical vacuuming, which is a pretty important function. It also has a few attachments like a brush and a tapered crevice tip, but no more than what you actually need. Did I mention how powerful it is? To be blunt - if you are old and/or feeble you will probably not be able to handle this vacuum. Anyone else will find this to be the strongest handheld vacuum on the market, thus the most useful one.

Gets the job done!
I was nervous making a purchase like this, because I am pretty particular. I can’t speak on the longevity of the product because I’ve only had it a few weeks. So far it is exactly what I was looking for. It is powerful but small and much more portable then using the extensions on my vacuum. I use mine primarily for the stairs and vehicles. I have to clean the filter every time I use it, but that was expected for a compact vacuum. I’m very happy so far.

Great power & suction, nice long cord, but rotating brush is useless.
great suction power & filtration. Bought as a replacement for my Shark EuroPro Diamond that finally died after 14+ years of frequent use. Tried to repair it, but as filters are no longer available for it either, ended up looking for a new, corded replacement. Couldn't go w/cordless - I need something with lots of power that can run longer than 10 min., as I use this to clean my large sectional, a.k.a. the dog's favorite bed. I have a constantly shedding, large black Lab and a white canvas sectional sofa, and the carpet in our home is light colored (came with the house). We only have carpet in a few areas, so I mostly sweep & dust mop daily, My regular vac is a central vac, and it's a major pain to haul it out & hook everything up just to do the sofa & stairs, or her favorite spots to lay in the bedroom at night. Even with slip covers, I still need to vacuum the dog hair off the sofa daily, and a cordless machine just doesn't run long enough, or have the strength for that or do clean the stairs. This is the only reasonably priced, hand-held corded machine I could find. It works just as well as my old machine, but, I wish the design was different. The rotating brush is useless. It rotates fine, until you try to use it on anything - the slightest bit of pressure or resistance from fabric or carpet - flat weave, no pile - makes it stop rotating. It also makes the machine feel awkward and heavy, as it weighs down the front end. Would be nice if it could be removed, or even better, if they made a version without it. The dust cup is easy to empty, and the filter is fairly easy to clean. I tap hold mine down inside the trash can and tap it the side with whatever is handy - handle from a dish brush, a pencil, etc. to get off most of the dust & debris, then use a soft tooth brush to remove the dog hair & lint. I bought extra filters, so that I can wash & rinse the filter with mild soap and let it dry when there's a lot of dust, pollen season, or when cleaning up after other things, like spilled flour or sugar in the kitchen, dried mud & dirt from outdoors or in the cars, etc., so there's always a clean one in the machine. If the filter material seems to look a bit ragged, or pilled up with lint like an old sweater, I gently go over it with a sweater shaver or a disposable razor, and it's good as new. Overall, it's a nice little machine, does the job well, and at a great price. But, I just wish the rotating brush was removable or, at least, worked well enough to be useful. If that brush worked well, i'd give it 4 stars. If it was removable, to make the machine lighter & less awkward to use, I'd give it 5 stars.

Powerful and compact, great for apartment living
I love this vacuum. I needed something that will clean my studio apartment effectively, but not take up a whole bunch of space in the already-limited real estate that is my closet. Given that I am only working with less than 300 square feet, I don't mind vacuuming my apartment floors while waddling low on the ground - you get great calf definition! I chose this vacuum over the yellow 71B Eureka vacuum because it came with an extra brush attachment. I have had the 71B vacuum before and I would say that they are pretty much identical except for the brush attachment. This vacuum is powerful for my needs, and the cord is long enough (for my studio apartment) that I don't miss it being cordless at all. Update: I've now owned this vacuum for 20 months and while it still has good suction power, the rotating brush no longer rotates. I've intermittently tried to clean it out, but it might be time to call this goodbye.
