AVAKMaxDuty Flex N - Heavy Duty Flexible Handle 1/2" Blind Rivet Nut Setter (Standards UNC)

We ordered this tool to install 1/2-13 rivet nuts into 3/16" wall square extrusion, to hold hinge hanger bolts into gate frames.Very professional looking finish, easy to do. I think.We also used it to install 1/4-20 rivet nuts for installing the gate latches. (those were very easy to set.)I would have given it 5 stars, because it did the work perfectly, but getting the steel 1/2-13 nuts to start the collapse when setting, takes a lot of arm force. I did figure out that you can "start" the nut with the handles almost in the closed position then tighten the mandrel and finish the set, like working with a "pop" rivet. they usually don't pop on the first pull.Nice tool, nice kit, and they upgraded it with a nose that pulls blind rivets as well as rivet nuts no extra charge. Nice touch.I have set 21 1/2-13 nuts & 21 1/4-20 nuts so far with this tool. not a lot, but that's all I needed for the job.(two of each size installed in each gate frame, times ten gate frames, plus the initial trial run to see how it worked. perfect every time.)I'd buy this tool again if I needed another and I'd tell others that if they need a tool to set rivet nuts, this tool will work just dandy for them.p.s. the drill bit for 1/2 -13 rivet nuts is 17/32", the drill bit for 1/4-20 is 9/32" .

tool works great just make sure mandrel is all the way in when using, mandrel backed out and pulled threads out. (my fault for not checking) company took care of it for me and i couldn't be happier

Hubby says it's the best tool investment he's made in a while. He absolutely loves it! Does exactly what he wanted it to and easily :)

Excellent tool, no issues installing 3/8 nutserts, heavy duty tool for the money.

I ordered one of these directly from RG/AVAK. It was fullfilled by Amazon and came in an Amazon box. I needed it to set 1/2"-13 rivet nuts. It appeared to be a well made tool, but a 1/2" nut seemed like it may be at the limits of the tools capability. I broke the tool setting the first rivet nut. (At 58 yrs,I didn't think I had it in me) The mandrel pulled out from the piston and ruined the threads on both.I reached out to RG via the email adderss on their web site, but it was returned 'undeliverable" and then again via the link on their web site. After two weeks, I have yet to get a reply.The tool would probally work well for smaller rivet nuts, but if you can't get a hold of the manufacturer for replacement parts, it's worthless.
