Tableau Your Data!: Fast and Easy Visual Analysis with Tableau Software

Husband says it's a well written way to work with and learn Tableau. He highly recommends it!

This book is a comprehensive method to learning Tableau. Would recommend this book to people serious about learning Tableau. A database or analytical background is helpful for understanding some terminology however the book has thorough explanations.

I really like this book. It has provided me with a lot of insights that I did not have prior to its purchase. The reason for not giving it 5 stars is more an issue of Amazon, I think than the content of the book. When I received the shipment, the book's cover was creased and it looked like it was more a used book than a new one--I am a bit fastidious about my books...Anyway, if you are looking for a good Tableau reference then this is definitely a good choice.

If you are after a thorough treatment of the subject this is the one for you.If you are just interested in a 10000 ft. overview it is probably more thanyou want.

I think this book is a good introduction to Tableau, especially if you are able to follow along with the Tableau workbooks that are available on the companion website. I didn't give the book 5 stars because the book references excel files that are available to download on the companion website; however, I haven't been able to find any of the excel files to download. A few times I have been able to get around this by saving the data source file from Tableau if there happens to be a tableau workbook for that chapter that is using the excel file as the data source, but there are many cases where this is not an option. A little disappointing as it makes it a lot harder to follow along with some of the examples and made some of the chapters confusing where I spent time re-reading and looking for the excel files. I contacted Wiley support (the publisher) about this too; hopefully they will respond.

SUPER helpful, love the Tableau software and this book nailed it! Exactly what I needed to create scientific data dashboards visually!

I am 16% through the Kindle version of this book, and so far it has been a major disappointment. The last straw was in chapter two, where you spend all this time formatting the data, then simply "test your work by building a map". On the next page, "if you are unable to create the map, don't worry" because I'll learn how to do that in chapters 3 and 5. Kind of defeats the purpose of testing my work, huh?

Ist nicht mein erstes betreffend diesem Thema / Programm aber das Beste bisher.Schön strukturiert aufgebaut und es beinhaltet nahezu alle Antworten auf aufkommende Fragen.Nutze es aber eher als Nachschlagewerk wenn spezielle Fragestellungen auftreten aber lese zwischendurch auch ganze Kapitel

Probably the best book to get started using Tableau. If you're looking at this, you know that Tableau is one of the world-leading (if not THE world leading) data visualisation software suites. This book does an excellent job of bringing the reader from zero knowledge to a point where he or she is at an intermediate level of comfortability. I highly recommend this book to get started with Tableau!
