after significant research, I decided to go with these American floor mats for a basement gym and I'm incredibly happy I did.after measuring my rectanglular room, I ordered the package that best fit those dimensions with the intent of installing them on my own.I have no prior experience doing any type of install work of this kind, but I own a hammer and box cutters and figured I'd give it a shot.the floor arrived in 9 separate boxes of mats, which made it easy to get them into the house as each box contained only a few 2'x2' mats.cutting the mats was very easy with a box cutter. i found that about halfway through the install I needed to replace the blade to a new one as the rubber dulls the blade enough to make cutting more difficult over time. each cut required about 3 passes with the blade.mats fit together perfectly and do not budge. mine were placed directly on a concrete floor and they don't slide, bubble, or pull apart. I can't even see the seams. I used a combination of my hands, feet, and hammer to put the mats together. while hand and feet work, you'll want to use a hammer to get them perfectly flat.all in all, the project took 2 days. most of the time was spent cutting the perimeter mats for 2 lengths of wall. the middle mats only took me a few hours total.dropping weights on them does a great job muffling sound and protecting my weights. they clean up nicely with a swiffer, and there was no rubber smell before or after install.I ordered them in the blue color and I love the added flair. all in all, I couldn't be happier with this floor. I would order them again in a heartbeat.

Did not have to air out, the minimal odor wore off after 2 weeks. Cardboard boxes that they came in, were battered, somewhat to be expected. Installing the jigsaw tiles was easy, soft mallet hammer made it trivial. Maybe most importantly, the cuts are precise, and the seams are not visible without going on your knees and looking for them. The only minor complaint might be that they are a bit squeaky with weight lifting shoes.

These are great quality and very easy to install. Definitely took my garage floor to another level.

American Floor Mats makes quality flooring.I needed some gym flooring in the basement and purchased this on 08/03/2021.I saw reviews not only on amazon but on gym forums and blogs saying that this flooring was worth the money.Yes, its on the more expensive side.Home Depot carries cheaper alternatives, but I wanted to invest in a long term solution.I placed a power rack ontop of it and I'm loving the flooring, its durable and protects my basement flooring.People are complaining about the "rubbery" smell, but honestly its not that bad...So... the not so good part of this purchase.Shipping... after going back and forth with American Flooring I finally received my shipment on 08/21/2021.If you know how UPS operates they allow sellers to "lock in" a "Z" tracking number. Its like a TBD number for the UPS system.My Z tracking was locked in same day but sat in "shipment has not been picked up check back tomorrow" for weeks.Moral of the story, if you have time on your hands and do not need the product right away, this is the flooring you want. Otherwise, i would just go pick some flooring up at home depot or lowes.

I bought these to make a 4x8 padded area under my squat rack, and they are great—solid, durable (have had them for over 1 year with no signs of wear), and fit together tightly. The vendor’s service is also top notch—I had to swap oit a couple of tiles, and they responded and took care of everything quickly.
