Like you I have bought many dog collars over the years. I prefer a nicer full grain leather collar but so many of them are poorly made...this Collar is of FANTASTIC quality. The leather is thick and supple, stiched together are two layers of this leather with a thick brass D ring sewn between the two layers. This usually will break overtime...I am optimistic that is not the case with this collar as it does seem very strong. I also like it does not jingle everytime my dog scratches himself which is often. I will update my review over time.

Great durable, secure collar. We’ve never been fans of a pinch clasp collar (I don’t trust it to hold if a dog would pull too much), so we always look for buckled collars. This is a great upgrade for our puppy as she grows. The collar is THICK…so be aware of that. It’s not really low-profile. But I still think it fits our 3 month old Irish Setter well. We got the 10-14.5” collar, and right now, she’s on the smallest setting. I do think the durability of this collar fits the price point, but I still wish I didn’t have to pay $25 for a collar that my dog will grow out of. I wouldn’t think twice about purchasing this as a one-time collar for a full-grown dog. Definitely worth the money. We got the green color, which looks great against her red coat. No color bleeding happening at all yet. We’ll have to wait to see if the leather/color cracking becomes an issue down the road…only time will tell. Love that the attachment for dog tags is positioned in a way that allows their tags to lay flat against their chest, facing forward, very visible, and easy to read. Leash attachment seem very sturdy and secure, and we have no worries about it giving way. Excellent collar, and functions just as a quality collar should.

I bought this for my 60 lb staffy over a year ago and it still looks almost new. There has been no fraying, no fading of the black leather, and he looks handsome in it. I don’t walk my dogs using their collar, I use harnesses for walks so I can’t attest to strength over time if you are using a collar to restrain your dog in that capacity but when I have needed to restrain my dog just in general, I have had zero issues. If you’re using your collar for the purpose of restraining your dog, go buy a collar that is meant for that and maybe do some training.

Love it but... The keeper is not tight enough on the collar and the leather keeps slipping out. This is the 5th or 6th collar I have ordered in the last couple of months and and they all do this and it is annoying to keep refitting it.

Heavy duty! Great material and the color is even better in person! The material honestly is better than expected for how little I paid. Not super stiff but not flimsy. Molly is a 3 month Great Dane puppy and weighs 25 lbs, I got a size medium so she can grow with it. I have it on the third notch for some breathing room but it’s not super loose.

I love the thickness, quality and color of the collar. We went with the dark pink bc she’s a she. Only thing I noticed was the holes for the snap, one is uneven but it still closes securely.

Ok, I admit, when I first opened the package and looked at the brass hardware on the collar, I was pissed... it's not only tarnished, but pitted and for the money I spent on it and all the research I did and finally deciding on this collar, for the brass to look like it just got done going through the garbage disposal, I was seeing red and ready to return it immediately.BUT, I have an animal sanctuary (Horses/Dogs) that specializes in unadotpable animals that oftentimes were abused or have serious behavioral issues and one of the dogs, who is so beautiful... just this big white fluffy boy, is a Slovak Cuvac, with artic wolf blood flowing through his veins with a mix of Great Pyrenees. Even though I have 250 lb Saints, this Slovak has a power to him that's absolutely incredible for his size and so stubborn, add into it he has an aggressive side and you have a dog that truly has to be respected for his lineage but also well trained.I've had a hundred different collars/harnesses/etc for him and just never felt quite comfortable with them on him and when I ordered this collar for him I was desperate for a very secure collar as the one he was wearing was sure to snap soon.So when this collar arrived, and I saw the brass was pitted, I was tempted to send it back, but his need for a secure collar outweighed the defects.I kept the collar and am so thrilled that I did. Besides the brass, it is well made. The leather and brass lead ring at the back of the collar is standing up to his sheer power. Having the brass ring at the back allows me to quickly attach his lead, allows quick hook up to his truck dog seat belt, the smaller brass ring in the front allows his rabies/id tags to be quickly seen and not getting in the way of attaching a lead.I'm so thrilled with the collar that I already have several more in my cart ready to purchase for my other very strong and powerful dogs.It's definitely worth the money and I will be a return customer.
