The built-in thermos is a game changer! It actually keeps my child’s pasta or soup warm until lunchtime, and the rest of the food stays perfectly cool. I love that it’s all in one box, so I’m not juggling multiple containers or ice packs. The compartments are the perfect size for balanced meals — fruits, snacks, and entrees all fit nicely without getting soggy or mixed up. It’s also super sturdy and leakproof. My kid isn’t the most careful with their lunchbox, and this one has held up really well — no cracks or spills. Cleaning it is easy too, which is a huge bonus. I bought the OmieBox during Prime Day, and it’s been in daily use ever since. Keeps Food Warm for Hours The built-in insulated thermos is the real MVP. I pack hot food (like soup, pasta, or curry) at 6:30 a.m., and by 11:40 a.m., it’s still warm—perfect for my daughter’s lunch schedule. Just be sure to pre-warm the thermos with hot water for 15–30 minutes before adding food. Leak-Proof and Durable This lunch box is sturdy and well-built. It holds up to daily use, even with a rough-and-tumble kindergartener. The thermos doesn’t leak, and the main box seals tightly. We’ve had no spills in her backpack. Kid-Friendly Compartment Design I love how easy it is to pack a balanced lunch. The compartments are perfect for sides like fruit, nuts, or a sweet treat. The thermos sits securely in its own space and doesn’t affect the other food. Easy to Clean The main box is hand-washed, while the thermos, gasket, lid, and insert all go in the dishwasher. Everything dries overnight, and there are no tricky corners where food gets stuck. A Few Things to Know The thermos lid can be hard for younger kids to open on their own. The box is a bit heavier (1.7 lbs), but the built-in handle makes it easy to carry. There’s a short learning curve with reinserting the lid seal—nothing major. Bonus: Lunch Bag Pairing Instead of the Omie tote, I use the Pottery Barn Cold Lunch Pack, and it’s a perfect fit. It’s insulated, easy to wipe clean, and has pockets for utensils and extras. I just got this lunch box and already I have my thoughts on this. I like the idea of a bento style lunch box with the capability to hold and keep foods cold or hot. There's only so many sandwiches I can make for my kids with other bento lunch boxes, sometimes they ask for a hot lunch and I have to pack a thermos along with the other containers making for a bulky and messy lunch bag. This right here solves all that. One container for hot/cold items plus compartments for sides and or a drink. This lunch box is innovative and great but it does have some things that need to be looked at and hopefully fixed in a future redesign. Here are some cons: First of all, when I got this I struggled to open it. I mean really struggle! To the point where I almost stuck a butter knife to pry this thing open. Maybe it was because it was stored but I would hate for that to happen in school and my kids not asking for help and going without lunch. :( After a few times opening and closing it got a little loose enough to make it easier to open. The silicone lining does come off to clean daily (as recommended) but it can come off too easily that with time it might fly out every time we open the lunch box. Another thing I don't really like is that you need to apply force to shut the lunch box tight. There will be a slight gap on the side where the thermos is located, so if you were to pack a sandwich in there, you would need to wrap it in plastic wrap to avoid getting dust or dirt in there contaminating the food (if you use this as intended without a separate insulated lunch bag, I personally would use a separate bag to pack this). Another thing to think about is that when putting a hot meal in the thermos it will slightly warm up the items in the other compartments. Not a problem if you pack crackers or other dry foods but definitely something to keep in mind when packing fruits and vegetables. Finally a couple other things to consider is that only the thermos is leak proof, the other compartments are spill proof from each other (except when dividing it with the removable divider included) but they are not leak proof so forget about packing yogurt or applesauce as a side item directly into the compartment. Like I said the thermos is leakproof, just becareful when twisting it shut as the silicone ring is a little flimsy and if it bends or wrinkles it will cause liquids to spill out. I know it seems like a lot of cons but I tried it at home before thinking about sending it to school and these are things that could be corrected in a future updated design. Now for the pros, there are many, besides the ones I already mentioned, the thermos does keep food warm for atleast 4 hours, enough to last until lunch time. It is leak proof when used correctly and it is compact and sleek and it fits in a standard size lunch bag. The plastic is BPA and phthalate free and it is high quality, you can feel how great it is. The handle is great for little ones hands. It is up there in price but I think it is a fair price considering that it is an all in one lunch box, a thermos, bento style lunch box with a handle that does not require a separate bag to carry. Yumboxes cost around $30 or more but don't keep food warm or cold, and still need a bag. Planetboxes start at over $50 and still need a bag (your total will be almost $70 with all the extras) and also doesn't keep foods cold/hot. I do love Yumbox and Planetbox don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to say that the price is just right. I would recommend this for little kids, up to maybe age 6 or 7 depending on their appetites. This is perfect for my 3 yr old but my 8 yr old said it looks like a baby lunch box and also that it won't fit much food. Hope this review helped someone!

Omg this is the best lunchbox yet. I can send my kids with their rice and chicken their soup or pasta and it will stay warm until lunch break. I totally love it and I’m obsessed with it. Seals perfectly easy to use and to clean doesn’t stay with the smell of whatever you give them for lunch. Overall 100% to this. Doesn’t leak.

La boîte est jolie, pratique et bien étanche grâce à son joint. Quand on n'a pas la possibilité de réchauffer, le récipient isotherme est top pour les soupes ou plats en sauce qui restent bien chauds pour les enfants.

In due anni di scuola ho provato tantissimi lunch box, ma da quando ho comprato questo non penso che cambierò. La cosa che più mi piace è che permette di avere un pasto caldo e snack in un solo contenitore, senza dover dividere il pranzo in tante ciotoline. E' facile da aprire anche per i bambini, non fa scorrere liquidi. e dopo un uso di un anno è ancora perfetto. Caldamente consigliato, vale il prezzo più alto rispetto agli altri lunch-box

bento box thermos lid got stuck in first use only. I tried to reach out to customer services but they refused to provide replacement parts outside US, which was very disappointing and local vendor never replied. Its not worth the spend and hassale, I will not recommend this product
