Great variety for a full garden without 40 packets
2023 Update: Just ordered another pack and besides one packet being popped open all the varieties were there. Still a great affordable way to plant a varied garden. The local shops are selling seeds for $1.50-$5.00 per packet and I just don't need that quantity. Have had no issues with sprouting even after a year or two. This year it came with a nice little booklet that I like much better than the cards from my last pack.Original:This is how you plant a large, varied garden without spending a fortune on individual packets. I buy one of these packs every other year and also have seeds to share with friends and family. One pack is saved for an emergency and I rotate that one out every time I buy a new one to keep it fresh. I've never had a problem doing it this way, although this experience is over several different brands of survival seeds. This bag has the seeds in individual foil packets. I've had others with paper packets and one with tiny ziploc bags. The little bags in another kit were nice to reseal, but I had no problem using a snack size baggie or a homemade paper packet for the leftover seeds. I imagine that the foil packets do a better job of preserving the seeds long-term.The instruction cards only list the germination days, germination temperature, plant spacing, row spacing, planting depth, days to maturity, and brief notes such as: "full sun and fertile soil. Sow directly 3 weeks before last frost." So you better at least know your last frost dates. It also doesn't list fall planting dates, so any good gardening book could be used to drastically improve your ability to grow these seeds successfully if you are a new gardener or trying new plant varieties.I like the variety in this pack and the packets I have opened were true to the count listed in the description. I'm not going to count the lettuce seeds to see if there are 1600 though! The description lists all the types of seeds and their amounts and the total of 16,500 is mostly the smaller seeds. These are also the ones that I use the most of so the amounts work well for me. I plant a lot of lettuce for baby greens in between longer growing crops or after a plant is done producing but there's still some season left. This pack only includes 12 bean seeds of one variety and 24 peas of one variety, so if you are looking for more protein from your garden I would recommend supplementing with additional bean and pea varieties.I would prefer more varieties of carrots, beans, or peas in lieu of the cayenne, jalapeno, and sweet banana peppers. However, I find that I can usually trade the seeds I don't want with other gardeners.I'll update if there is any issue with germination. I usually pre-sprout my seeds so I don't waste seeds or seed starter mix but if I'm in a hurry I just use multiple seeds and thin by snipping them off with a pair of sharp scissors once one appears to be more vigorous.

This is a great idea
I have bought several of these to put away for a time I might not find seeds I’m looking for.

Good for prepping or your routine garden.
I have bought the product a couple of times along with others. This seed bank is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. I left these on the shelf for two years and then rotated them out. When I pulled the old pack I went ahead and planted them. I had a great crop from these seeds. The packages are a little small but they are adequate. I will continue to buy this product as long as the cost is low. For an average household, this is a great product.

Not exactly as described
When I was comparing products I made sure to read the package and tried to buy the one that had more of the stuff I liked. I did get 40 packets of seeds. For the most part everything was there. One type of lettuce and two types of tomato and the pumpkin were substituted for a different variety. Unfortunately the pumpkin was one of the things I was looking for. The rhubarb and the yellow banana pepper or substituted for Swiss chard and another packet of lettuce. I don't like Swiss charge and I was really looking forward to the rhubarb and the banana peppers. I attempted to go on the company's website but it doesn't seem to work. What I do like is they include a book that tells you all about each of the species. Again six different things I have here that book's not going to help because they're not what's listed. I'm happy with what I got just a little disappointed I have to still go by seeds

Everything I needed was in one pouch
The media could not be loaded. If you’re thinking of starting a garden, and you want a little bit of everything and you’re new at this, this is the perfect pouch to order.

Great variety garden and a happy grandson
I purchased these last winter for my grandson's 4th birthday thinking the small packets and large variety would give him a great chance for a lot of different vegetables and we would try a few different ones each year. Only 1 packet was duplicate and we started our first selection of seeds indoors in February. Then we had a pandemic and he and I were quarantined at home so we went ahead and increased our choices. He was really excited about the pumpkins and melons so I cleaned up my old unused garden area, amended soil in the raised beds and he had a great time planting 'lots of food for us to eat' . Others he planted in various pots and tubs around the yard. Germination rate was great, very healthy, prolific plants and super flavor. His garden has become a 'little shop of horrors' and we have already eaten a lot of broccoli, kale, corn, turnips, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, beans, peas, lettuce, eggplant, spinach, and his first honeydew. He is excited about harvesting every day and watching that big max pumpkin get bigger and bigger. This would have been a great package for our original plan of teaching him gardening but I never would have imagined that there would be so much to harvest from 40 small seed packets and we still have lots left over. I am ordering another package because he was so excited going through all the packets choosing what he wanted but I will also be saving seed from this years crop. A great deal.

So far the germination rate is pretty low on the melons
Ok so Non green thumb here and it shows! But I had to do a lot of looking to make sure I was doing everything properly. So far the germination rate is pretty low on the melons. (4 out of 18). Not sure if that is my fault or just my luck. But I had great luck with the rhubarb starting and the tomatoes. But thats about the extent of it.On the packaging note, Since I am so new at this I wasn't going to plant everything well there is no way to really save the seeds you don't plant. I ended up just folding the packages over and taping it back shut so I knew which seed is which when I go to plant more. There are really no good instructions on when or how to plant them either. Plus there are a some that are just plain not on the little cards that come with it.Overall I think the seeds are ok so far and the packaging needs some work, So just an average pack.
