Duracoat Ultimate Do It Yourself Firearms Finish - Can Only (Matte Black)

Awesome product and very durable coating, easy to apply and I'm wanting to coat all my firearms with now.

Really nice stuff. It sprays easily, several thin coats work much better that one heavy coat. It dried very hard. It stayed sprayable for about 36 hours for me. It's expensive but when you have a really small project that you want to rattle can I can't imagine anything else working better.

I'll be honest. I did not expect much when I ordered this product. I purchased a Remington 700 ADL that had a black oxide finish. The rifle was left with this powdery-looking finish that began rusting 2 weeks into deer season. I knew it wouldn't be long until it was completely rusted. I purchased Duracoat after ready the mostly positive reviews. I stripped my rifle down and cleaned it thoroughly. I applied 3 coats of matte black Duracoat and allowed it to dry overnight before reassembly. I just finished the rifle's third hunting season and there is not a single blemish or scratch anywhere. I hunt the swamps of southeast Louisiana. It is super humid and downright wet most of the time. This stuff is TOUGH. I am about to purchase Duracoat Magpul FDE for my EDC pistol. I cant say enough about this product!

Followed all the instructions to a T. Coating flaked off with normal handling. Waste of money.

For the combination with ease of use and durability, it can't be beat. Fallow directions! Sand the parts to your liking and after a soapy bath fallow up with a degreaser. I also applied two coats and its very tuff. It made the rifle look like it was done by a professional and not just someone in their garage.But... I used the entire can on one rifle, and only had a little left over. So for one can, if you use two coats and apply it nice and heavy, just figure then 1 long gun, or 2 hand guns.I plan on buying a lot more of this stuff.

Love duracoat products. Easy as hell to use and with proper prep it lasts a good while. Duracoater a beater i got and its held up well enough, do not use abrasive material on it though it aint immune to rough material.

1st, i never give 5 stars to anything unless it dances for me. I#1 be aware that there is apparently several grades of black going from gloss to flat and this is not flat. #2 it is really easy to use and sprays even. dries fast and i've used it twice. this went on an entire shotgun to make it uniformly the same black. it is durable. But you don't even have 12 hours to use it up once it is mixed, so plan on throwing any away that you don't use within a few hours. a can will put several coats on an entire shotgun. I am very pleased with it
