Useful to Deter Swallows from Nesting
Swallows are beautiful, interesting, and great for insect control. We watched them nest and raise their families for several years on the porches of our new home. Eventually the charm of that wore off and we were tired of the piles of bird poop, unsightly muddy nests on our siding, and being dive-bombed when using our front and back doors. That's when we found out how incredibly persistent this species is! They have done a lot of cosmetic damage to these areas, and we want to repaint, but first we had to find a way to move the swallows to other locations. We tried the following with no success: fishing line, shiny tape, rubber snakes, knocking the nests down with a broom several times a day (obviously this doesn't work when you aren't home all day every day), building a wooden platter under the nest to catch the poop (they quit nesting in that spot and moved off a few feet), mesh covering the corners, and keeping a fan on (they didn't like it, but learned to find a corner that didn't bother them). This bird block works perfectly for our purpose. We completely enclosed our two porches, using pushpins to attach the mesh to the tops and sides. It didn't take much time to put it up, but we learned that the birds will find their way in with even a small opening. There are a couple of feet open at the bottom because the mesh was not long enough to reach the ground. However, they do not fly under it. Clearly this is an extreme measure which prohibits us from using two of our doors. The mesh is somewhat visible when we look out of our windows, but not hugely distracting. We still sit out and enjoy the view on our porches. The mesh did not harm the birds in any way. I was afraid they might get their feet tangled in the openings, but they did not.I read somewhere that the swallows will come back for 5 years to try to nest in the same spot again. We plan to save this roll of Easy Gardener bird block and use it again next year if we have to, which will make this also a cost-effective solution for us.

Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues!
I've had a peaceful co-existance with birds for more than twenty years, even growing thistle, poke weed berries and other treats for them. In return they've left my garden alone. All that changed this summer. The day I saw six blue jays sitting on the fence gloating after they'd just stripped my raspberry bushes was the day I found my inner Mr. McGregor.I've taken one star off because this material is hard to work with, and it isn't enough on its own. It has to be coupled with Bird Blinder, old CDS or both in order not only to keep the bird out but to convince them to keep their distance. That's kept me, I believe, from having any trapped birds. For a crop like raspberries you have to hang the bird block from something high enough so it doesn't snag on the bushes -- you have to repeatedly roll it back in order to pick the berries, of course, and snagging it would soon rend it useless. I used pipe ties to secure it to the railing of a fence, then brought it up, across and down using 5' stakes to drape it over. That meant I needed a lot more material than I originally figured. But it's absolutely worth it.I'm planning on planting elderberries next spring, and I'm giving thought to planting them in a configuration that means I get maximum coverage with less bird block -- maybe a square, instead of the straight row I have the raspberries in.

Easy to work with, not strong
This netting works for my purpose. I used it to extend the top of a chicken run to prevent chickens from flying out.It is lightweight, and I had no trouble unrolling it or working with it. That said, it is extremely thin (honestly, I can't imagine it being thinner) and tears with very little force. Don't expect to use it to contain animals or to dissuade determined rodents or predators. The description as a "bird block" is a good one because its best use is to create a "no-fly zone." The mesh openings are small, about half an inch, so it's unlikely any but the smallest animals would get caught in it if it is kept relatively taut.I didn't find it hard to maneuver but it definitely caught on anything it came in contact with, so putting it up close to plants would be very difficult. I would use this netting only to create a a fence to exclude flying things or maybe large snakes (perhaps other animals would be dissuaded by the annoyance, but they can tear it easily if they try). For any other job, look for a different product.

Reusable - depends on your application
Our South facing front yard needed help. After the first full year experienced season, I no longer wanted to mow the slopes. We wanted to cover the 6' drop (over a 13' span) & eliminate my seasonal Nebraska mowing not to mention dealing with the dead spots. This netting is perfect solution to hold mulch in place; it arrived rolled around a recyclable cardboard tube, doubled over (half the shorter width), which made handling arguably a one person job. We used weed block, mulch, this netting & more mulch on top of this netting (concealed netting) . In my application, I learned a robust edging is essential at the slope's base; but, this netting did wonders even in the occasional rain down pouring. As far as removing & reusing, I easily cut the netting to accommodate the anticipated scrub growth and don't intend to reuse it. If you're covering tomatoes or small garden, keep the cardboard tube to make removing

Good Solution to a Pesky Problem
This netting came folded up and was fairly easy to use. Anyone who has used bird netting knows that 'fairly easy to use' is a very good thing! I bought two of these to completely cover our peach tree after the birds ate over 1/2 of our apricots and peaches on one of our trees and pecked the rest and I had another peach tree that ripens later and I was determined to save the peaches on that tree. One of the nets I used to cover the tree north to south and the second to cover the tree east to west. I had the netting go all the way to the ground and anchored it there with boards but I didn't take into account the rabbits we also fight with and those little rodents chewed right through the netting on the bottom and enjoyed all the peaches ripening low enough to the ground that they could reach. This winter I will prune off the lower branches and then use the netting to cover the tree and tie it together up under the lowest branches instead of taking it all the way to the ground. Yes, I was able to take the netting off of the tree and save it for next year.

Miracle Mesh
For the past year we have had a crazy male Cardinal attacking several of our windows. He favored our bathroom window but would randomly move from there to several others throughout the year. He would see his image in the window and continue to attack his image. We tried everything from sticky notes to owl pictures in the window. Some things worked for a few weeks and then he would be back. This mesh was wonderful. We cut pieces large enough to cover the glass in question, and taped it primarily at the top of the outside of the window. We wanted it to move in the wind a bit so he could see it. Accuracy was not important. He's gone! I don't think he's even attempted to attack the windows with this mesh in place. The size of the spaces in this material does not impact light coming into our home. We are in no hurry to remove it, since in the past he has returned. Thank you again.

Amazing for keeping out unwanted pests!
I bought this product because I've been having an issue with the local 'wild' chicken flock jumping over my fence and into my chicken coop's run. They were tormenting my poor docile Silkie chickens, eating up their feed, AND taking over their nests! My chicken coop is covered, but my run was not since Silkies are incapable of flight. So, after reading that this product's material is probably strong enough to withstand the weight of a chicken trying to get in, I bought it. I attached the netting to my pre-existing fence in my run and created a roof for the run doing this. The material is amazing! It's thin, easy to cut with scissors, flexible, and yet, very strong and resilient! I was also afraid it would make my chicken run look ugly, but you can't even see it unless you're right in front of it.Now, because it's so easy to cut with something sharp, if an animal with sharp teeth, such as a rabbit, really wanted to get in, this netting wouldn't stand much of a chance. But, it'd still be a great deterrent. If I even need any kind of netting in the future, I'll definitely be buying this product again!
