Well made, and very good for the money.
Well made, and very good for the money.I'm riding a big metric bike halfway around the world and have to keep the size and weight of everything down. These are perfect for the job and they have every size I need.I have undone all the parts I need to remove from the bike, and re-tightened them and even redone that again and I have had no problems at all.

This is way better quality than I expected
This is way better quality than I expected. But to be fair I was not expecting much for a cheap Chinese product. All the bits seems well made, accurately sized, and durable metal. I like the looks of the black and blue base, the blue is a little darker than in the picture which makes it look less cartoonish. I miss understood the meaning of "magnetic base" in the description. I thought it meant the bits were held in place by magnets, but it means the bottom is magnetic and the whole thing will stick to any ferrous metal. The bits are retained just by a pressure fit, which is a very little bit too tight, but definitely not loose and not too difficult to remove. The magnets are strong enough to hold the entire unit to the side of my toolbox but the base is smooth plastic and it slides down the side of the box. I'm going to put something sticky or grippy in between and I'm sure it will stay in place. The socket adapters are the weak point in this set, but thats fine for me because I'm using them in a bit driver and don't need them. The reason they are not so great is they way they retain the bits. The 1/4 inch adapter uses a spring to grip both sides of the bit and I don't see it staying in there for very long. The 3/8 inch adapter uses a detent pin to hold the bits in place similar to most nicer ratchets, but the difference is the pressure on the detent ball is applied with a thin band of spring steel that wraps around the socket and I can see that breaking or getting dirt under it and sliding off.

Tough after a few years of use
I haven't had a chance to really put these up to high impact use, I mainly use hand tools and cheater bars instead. But it still puts a lot of torque on these small bits. So far, so good, none broken. These are vital for things like suspension parts that have a small allen bolt that requires a lot of torque. You can't use the L shaped keys because they will bend or snap to that pressure, so these are the perfect answer.

Very nice tools!
I hope to actually use this set in a few weeks. A patio furn set I bought has an allen wrench with it, but the warehouse guy at Big Lots says it will go together 10x faster with a electric driver and metric allen bit. Prod doesn't say what size, so I'll take the set and hope it's all good. I could tear the boxes apart and collect the tools and make sure I got the right bits, but it's a 4 hour car drive and trying to jam the stuff back in the boxes for the ride doesn't sound fun, so... I'll let you know if there are any issues. So look, I really like the bit holder! It really holds those bits and the socket adapters! This is the real deal - everything fits tight but not too tight, and the magnets are just right. When you chat with the designers, give 'em a thumbs up from me, K?!? I'll pour a glass of Buffalo Trace for 'em this evening. Ok, since they won't show up, I'll drink it, too - no worries: we don't let good bourbon spoil round here!

One thing i really like is that the tray holding the bits has some ...
I've owned this kit for over a year now. One thing i really like is that the tray holding the bits has some feature in the holes for the bits that "snaps" when the bit is pushed down and thereby holds the bit in place in the tray -- i.e. they don't fall out when they are in your tool box and are all there in the tray when you need them next time. They seem to be well-made bits. I say "seem to be" because I have not used them heavily enough to rate their durability (this is also why I gave the set four instead of five stars). I got the set because I needed an 8mm hex for removing a bolt holding an alternator in the engine compartment of a 2000 Saab 9-5 sedan. I needed a tool with a very low profile to fit within a very narrow space and so I jury-rigged a solution by putting this 8 mm hex bit into the box end of a 10 mm combination wrench and used some tape to keep the bit secure in the spanner while I inserted the whole thing down into the gap to loosen the bolt. Solution worked great both loosening the bolt and later tightening it to secure the new alternator.

Make IKEA furniture a snap.
Never again will have to put together a piece of boxed furniture with the horrid little Allen key they include in the box! Now I no longer curl into the fetal position and cry when the kit includes 34, 4 inch long hex headed wood screws. And for some reason they "always" use hex screws and bolts, because IKEA is run by sadists. Now I can use my cordless drill to zip that baby together. The holder is nice and securely holds the bits. The bits themselves held up to my initial use without rounding or breaking.Since everything from your car to IKEA is global there is little point to buying an SAE tool set in this day and age yet your big box hardware store is dead set on selling you only SAE hex tools.Seriously for the prince, don't even doubt for a second, just click buy. You will use these someday, and you will be happy you bought these when your wife decides that comes-in-a-box super book case, entertainment center, wardrobe cabinet with 74,000 shelves is just something she has to own.

Quality Toolmakers
I've bought this and several similar sets of their tamper-resistant fastener driver bit sets, and the fine quality and style is consistent. I much appreciate the two sizes of bit holders provided - an extra they did not absolutely need to provide.Things like that, along with the magnetic holder for all the pieces, set a manufacturer apart (since tool quality should be a non-negotiable given, as it is here); makes you feel they are mindful of providing value, and proud to show off their name. Well done.
