I can't say enough good stuff about this brow gel
I can't say enough good stuff about this brow gel. Here is an anecdote to show you how truly great it is:One of the last couple of times I was getting dialysis in the hospital I awoke from unconsciousness to find Sandy, my favorite nurse, staring down at me. We starting talking (as old friends do) like no time had passed between conversations together. One thing led to another led to Jane Iredale Purebrow Brow Gel, Blonde 0.17 oz. Sandy and I both grew up in the 70s and 80s, the era of tweezing your eyebrows to thin little punctuation marks for the eyes. Today's full, elegant brows escape us and we are left jealous and without recourse. Until now. Now we have this wonderful goop. Sandy remarked that my brows looked different this time around. I looked more closely at hers and told her that her own looked great. I had been hospitalized for a few days and spent those days in an epileptic coma (status ep for you fellow nurses out there). I did not have time (or even the use of my hands) to apply my favorite brow product in as many days, so I was sporting my own naked brows. I said, "I use this stuff I found on Amazon and it is a bona fide miracle. It comes in a box that looks like mascara." "Does it have a lady's name on the box?" Sandy inquired. "Yes!", I said. "Some woman's name and it's a gel!" We threw a few names in the air but neither of us could recall poor Jane Iredale. Sandy and I are both at and age where the names of things and people have begun to evade us. The doctors coming in to the unit probably thought we needed a psych consult (we probably do). Luckily, Google made the association for us and we both spent a long time discussing the very wonder that is this particular Purebrow Brow Gel, Blonde. This little tale illustrates how badly you need to buy this product. TWO nurses recommend it. Throw them your money!

Surprised!
I have dark blonde (cool toned) blonde hair and generally have a hard time matching my brows. I have a decent amount of brow hair, but some of it is lighter, and I like to emphasize/make them a little darker. I had a hard time purchasing the blonde color because generally blonde products are too yellow/warm for me. Surprisingly, this is a pretty good match for me, used sparingly. It is more of a taupe (what I wanted). For a few years, I've been filling in lightly with Anastasia powder in taupe, and then running over them with Anastasia clear gel. In my quest to switch over to all natural/cruelty free makeup, I discovered this brand, and decided I'd try switching to a product that might eliminate one thing from my makeup stash (always good to streamline!).This stuff is a little tricky at first, but I think my past with the Anastasia brow gel spooly helped a bit. As someone mentioned, try your hardest not to get this on your skin, and ONLY on the brow hairs. It clings very nicely and thickens the hairs, but if it gets on your skin it looks redish and blotchy, not a good look. It is also hard to wipe off the skin at that point. Sometimes it seems a bit clumpy, so I separate and brush a bit with my angled brow brush.I think I found a keeper!

Just the right color...
I recently quit coloring my hair and am letting it go "gray" now. This Auburn Brow Gel has turned out to be a pretty good color for me. I am over 50 and am a "graying" red-head (with more gray now than red) and I didn't like the way my eyebrows have thinned and lightened (yes, they are turning gray, too!) so I wanted something that would look right with my skin tones (pale with some freckles) and light enough not to look harsh or unnatural.Applied with a light hand, this works pretty well. It is a light auburn — or darkish strawberry blond — color with definite "red" tones, but not overpowering. The "auburn" eyebrow gels I have used in the past (when I was still dying my hair to cover up the gray) are too dark and harsh now that I have gone "au natural" and am a mix of red and gray, so I am really glad to find this product. It is pricey, but to have the color right is worth it to me. It goes on easily, seems to stay on pretty well and most importantly, it looks pretty natural. You can use the wand to put it just on your eyebrow hairs, or you can press a little harder and color both your eyebrows and the skin below to both darken light brows and thicken thin brows (yes, eyebrows can thin with age) to achieve a very natural look.I also really like the Caramel color eyebrow gel by Anastasia as it, too, works well with my graying red hair and skin tones and goes on very nicely.

Tedious & Clumpy in a embarrassingly unsustainable package
I really wanted to live this product but I can’t get past the clumpiness. I think the problem is not the gel itself but the tube and brush format the product is sold in. Rather than being convenient, it is a pain and requires endless plunging and replunging and scraping and wiping to avoid globs that nevertheless end up on my brows anyway and then require surgical precision to excise to avoid redoing my whole face. And it’s hard to justify the wasteful packaging that’s supposed to be convenient but is not at all convenient nor is it effective in delivering the damn brow gel onto my brows without massive effort. A glass jar and reusable applicator would probably be more effective. Can you tell Im tired of paying for the privilege. Ok end of rant.
