Is this supposed to come with a shoulder strap or small bag to keep charger from damaging speaker when packed together.

It didn't come with a shoulder strap or a bag. The charger fits a little snug, if you place it towards the Top center section, by the zipper. It didn't seem to be too tight, up against the speaker but I use a car charger for the Xtreme, so I'm not concerned. Hope this helps.
