Great Homekit fan
install was straight forward - everything in the box - if you want a Homekit (smarthome) compatible fan this is a pretty good choice.Easy installNice fan controlremote included in boxApple Homekit compatible (I'm using it in my home)the hunter software is really really bad - that's ok however because you only need to use the Hunter software to join the fan to HomeKit - once its in HomeKit you never need to use the hunter software again. Some gotcha's (minor issues)1. hunter software SUCKS - that's ok use it to set fan up and then use Android or Apple Home to control the fan2. the really really short hanging pole is ordered separately not included in box3. the light is NOT dimmable - it's either ON or OFF and it's quite bright4. this fan hangs a bit low for a 8' ceiling - order the short pole5. Hunterfan does NOT support 5 ghz WiFI - 2.4 ghz only - make sure your WiFi is 2.4 ghz capable.6. the setup process is error prone and un-necessarily complex - and it often fails - if you ignore the errors you will eventually get the fan setup and joined to HomeKit and then it will work fine from that point forward, but it is frustrating.

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service!
Can I give zero stars??? Well let me clarify, I don't hate the fan, I hate Hunter Fan Company. Their customer service is beyond horrible, as a matter of fact, I don't even have the words to describe what I've been going through the last 5 weeks with them. I am writing this review to hopefully steer people away from Hunter Fan Company because they don't deserve the consumers hard earned dollars and need to realize that the customer matters. The fan it self is a good product when it works, which for the most part is a majority of the time. I've only had two problems with it over the 5 months I've owned it and both times I had to call customer service I got zero help. The reps have literally told me "I don't know what to do and will have to contact our corporate office and get back to you." In todays technological world that level of service alone is unacceptable but then when they don't get back to you at all...well in any world that is unacceptable. This latest issue is completely amazing...in a very, very bad way. The fan stopped communicating with the Apple Home app but worked with the Hunter app and remote. I called Hunter for support and got the first response of "reset your network" and try again. As you can imagine, resetting my network would mean that dozens of other "smart" devices would have to be reconfigured so that was not a desirable option and I sought to find another solution. I deleted the device from the Apple Home app and tried to add it again, that didn't work. I thought maybe if I deleted the Hunter app and reinstalled it while disconnecting power to the fan it might reset it and allow me to go through the configuration again but that didn't work either. Then when I reinstalled the app I forgot my password which I immediately tried to reset...this is where it got comical. I got a link to reset the app but when I entered a new password...nothing, just said "failed to change password." This went on for weeks, let me repeat that...Hunter Fan Company was not able to reset my password to the app for weeks!!!! After numerous calls and emails and absolutely no response at all regarding the password issue, all of a sudden one day it worked...great, now I can log into the app. Problem still not solved though. The app will control my other Hunter fan but not this one. The dialogue with Hunter continues...sporadically. They now tell me the problem is the remote control...huh??? How does that make any sense? Okay, whatever, go ahead and send me a new remote. I speak to a lady and ask that they overnight it so I don't have to go another week without my fan, she agrees, that was a Wednesday...Thursday nothing, Friday nothing, Saturday nothing. I email again and get a response that they thought the remote was out of stock and they will put in another order and overnight that...finally got the remote a week later and guess what? Didn't solve the problem. I was told I would be getting a call today, Friday April 28th, from a tech support agent to walk me through the process and fix this once and for all. Guess what? Yup, no phone call...no communication at all. Remote didn't fix the problem, fan still isn't working properly, can't get ahold of anyone at Hunter and it's now 5 weeks with not being able to properly use my fan. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am spreading the word on social media...this company does not deserve your hard earned dollars. They don't respect you the consumer and they do absolutely nothing to earn your business. There are plenty of other companies that will earn your business, maybe not companies that have an Apple HomeKit device but there are work arounds for that if you search around. Please heed this warning and do yourself a favor, DO NOT buy anything from Hunter Fan Company unless you want a company to take your money and treat you like crap.

Once enitrely loved this fan, but there are issues for earlier adopters.
Update: 10/07/2016. Original review was 5 stars. However, some recent circumstances have triggered the change: I have 4 of the Signal fans and I love them! However, I have to comment. On two separate fans they start on their own, and the problem developed at different times. I was able to cure the problem in one fan but in another fan the procedures outlined in both the support site and a support PDF sent to me resulted in making the original remote that came with the fan not functional. That's issue 1. The support service is terrible, that's issue 2. After 3 calls (because support has been told not to stay on the phone as the customer tries to trouble shoot their solution strategies) and uninstalling/installing the app, turning off circuit breakers, removing batteries, etc. the problem wasn't solved and finally an "expert" on the wifi fans came on and told me that the next step would be to send me a new remote (even though I questioned whether that would work given that the remote procedures weren't working) and he said that was the standard practice. Okay I said. Then he said, "well, there's no ETA on when we may have remotes." See, Hunter has made these great fans but according to their own support there's NO PARTS for them yet. He said maybe the first of the year, but that I should go back to where I bought the fan--except that was Amazon. So, I came to Amazon and as a PRIME member who buys quite a bit they were lovely in an initial email to resolve it, but when I noted an issue with the procedure, they came back with wanting me to return the fan (leaving a whole in my ceiling until sometime late November-January when the fans are yet available) in order to issue the refund for me to repurchase). Also not an acceptable strategy. AI politely balked and am waiting for a response. Issue 3. The app is terrible, and to this day (even though I created a new account after the first fan fiasco) sometimes a different user's name pops up under the profile and the app corrects itself so clearly there's something wrong in either the programming or the database associated with the app. Fortunately, except for the now non functional remote fan my other 3 Signals I use the original remote or Siri--maybe one day Hunter will make a better app, but for now steer clear of the app. So, the gist. On the whole these fans are wonderful--but they aren't entirely perfect and I would say "buggy" and the support services are not on par with other Home Automation offerings (Nest, Hue, etc. that I own).Absolutely love this fan! I installed it on Wednesday and it's been working incredibly well. The connection with Siri is perfect. I replaced a Hunter fan whose computer had died and it wouldn't run the fan any longer. I'm so thrilled I waited as this continued my home automation. I would give it 5 stars if it also worked with Nest and Echo. All home appliance and systems companies have to get on the same page or at least make their products functional across all platforms since no single platform yet does it all. Definitely recommend this fan!

Great fan. Remote sucks.
This is a great looking fan. It is quiet and puts out a lot of air. The light on it is good too. The bad part is the remote loses connection every time you turn the switch off. Idk of the remote is like my other Hunter fans or if it is wifi. I assume it has to do with the wifi. If the fan is on long enough it will reconnect but that makes it pretty useless. It took me a few days to get the fan connected to my router, but that was because my 5g was trying to connect. I disabled it in my router then it connected right away.
