Five Stars: This bimetallic analog thermometer is very similar to ones I used as a scientist while collecting air sampling data before everything turned digital. All external parts are non-magnetic stainless steel except for the calibration adjustment screw which I believe to be magnetic stainless steel. I expect that this screw will show minimal corrosion over time if used outdoors especially when exposed to a Florida beach environment. The printing is excellent with the °F marked off in 2° increments making 1°F readings easy. It is rather slow responding to drastically different environments but the one I received is accurate to less than or equal to 1°F when compared to my reference Hg thermometer. I bought this particular meter because of its similarity to professional industrial models that I have used in the past and it appears to satisfy my personal requirements for my outdoor beach house patio. Just knowing that it has the ability to be recalibrated is a huge plus. I haven’t touched the adjustment screw because it’s dead-on right out of the box. It doesn’t seem to be designed to remove the glass lens and I’m hoping it will remain water and dust proof. The models I have used in the past were recalibrated by removing the lens, loosening 3 screws and rotating the scale which only rarely occurred. If at some point in the future I need to recalibrate this one screw method may be a lot easier. I will be fabricating a window bracket so that I can read an accurate shaded patio temperature. In short, I’m impressed with its apparent design and quality build and will be purchasing another for my Gainesville house’s front porch.

Nice quality mechanical temperature gauge - well made, and seems so far pretty much on spec for accuracy. I preferred the -40 to +70C range as this covers all practical environmental conditions well. Came well packaged and quickly shipped. Recommended seller and item - thanks!
