It's beveled and has no impact on mags. Not particularly comfortable either. The wood/rubber version is much better.

Will this fit a 1911 RIA 10mm?

They are made to fit all brand 1911 frame styles. I believe you RIA 1911 frame is the same size as any other 9mm-.45 frame.

Will this fit for a springfield trp or a 1911 with aggressive front checkering?

As long as it is a full size 1911 it will work.
