Cambridge Audio Minx X301 Powered Subwoofer Amplifier for Home Theater (Gloss Black)

When my theater system originally installed the cut-out for a subwoofer was 12" square. That subwoofer lasted for 7 years. I needed one that would fit in that space, and was surprised how huge subwoofers are. This speaker fit great, and has a great sound to it. It doesn't overbear, but adds quality to the overall system, and has an easy volume knob on the side if you want to adjust depending on what your listening to.

This was a great compact subwoofer for two years. Bought it Feb 12, 2023. It failed the other day. Subwoofer produces only static, even when there is no audio input. Plugged it into multiple outlets just in case (again, no audio input) but no change. I was initially disappointed. However, I thought to check the warranty and was pleased that this unit has a three-year warranty. Better yet, Cambridge Audio is honoring the warranty, and I am preparing to send it off for repair. One star becomes three stars.

The price is high for what your actually getting. The sub is smaller than I expected, it claims 300 watts but sounds rather quiet when compared to other brands like klipsch. I own a R-1105sw its roughly the same output wattage, has a 10" driver with less overall cone area when compared to the dual woffers on the Cambridge which the 2nd woffer is just cone with no magnet. Its inverted to the forward facing driver which is actually connected to the internal amplifier. The sound quality wasn't as good as I'd hoped from Cambridge. The klipsch R-1105sw sound much better with fuller sound that didn't sound hollow and was able to produce deeper tones that the Cambridge seems to fall short too... I could truely feel the bass with the Klipsch. Also I wanted to make a note to the amplifier volume levels, the klipse was loud and powerful with rich deep bass with the volume adjusted to roughly 1/3 (turned up to 33% volume) the Cambridge seemed to need the gains set just about at max just to keep up with the Klipsch's performance at 1/3 the volume. The price point for the 1105sw is actually slightly cheaper than the Cambridge and sounds far better overall in nearly every aspect. I'd like to also note that I am not paid or endorced by klipsch to say this, I'm just an average guy that appreciates good sound with existing equipment I already own to set up senereos for testing purposes to compliment good products when I hear them as well as leave my opinion to the ones which could use more improvement.

Great little sub that has QUALITY bass ! You can hear the BASS and it doesn’t beat and pound on you like a 15 incher . I run two of these subs with Klipsch Heresy III’s up front and Klipsch RB-81’s in the rear . RECOMMENDED ! ! !

Love this subwoofer, paired with the matching Minxx satellite speakers; fantastic sound.

Easy to install, adds just enough punch to the sounds for my home office soundsystem.

You're not going to find a smaller subwoofer that packs this much bass.

This subwoofer is worth its weight in gold.
