Honest kitchen is honestly the best dog food!
My puppy started off with this puppy blend and has now graduated into the small breed blend. He loves this food, and as a dog mom and health enthusiast, I'm beyond happy that this company uses minimal basic ingredients which are human grade. Excellent nutrition for my dog, he deserves nothing but the best! 5 + stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our dogs love this food!
We have been feeding The Honest Kitchen grain free base mix to our Golden Retriever for years now. We add it into her dinner for extra fiber with her diet kibble to help keep her weight at normal. Just recently we started incorporating The Honest Kitchen Whole Grain Chicken Kibble for extra protein as she gets older. She loves it! We started our 4 month old puppy on The Honest Kitchen puppy blend and she loves it too! They even take it as a reward treat! The kibble is not oily like most kibble and is crunchy and light and is easy for both dogs to chew. Highly recommend, it's a high quality, human grade food with ingredients you can feel good about!!

My dog loves the taste of this food and it has helped his digestive issues. My dog also had teary eye issues and when I switched to this food, the teary eyes were gone. Hes very energetic with this food and the ingredients are good quality. He absolutely can't get enough of it!

Pricey but worth it
I researched affordable, high-quality puppy food, and this one fit the bill perfectly. My puppies love it, and it doesn’t cause any stomach issues. I combine it with the dehydrated food in the box, giving them half of each, and they’re thriving on it. Their shedding has noticeably decreased, and their stools are normal now—before, my female’s poop was almost black and very hard. This food has really made a positive difference!

Lily LOVES this food!……..but…….
After MUCH comparing of dog foods and giving Lily the opportunity to voice her opinion, we have settled on this one…at least for now. Lily is an 8 month old Sheltie and has a definite opinion on what she eats, unlike any of our others. I’ve always tried to feed our pups (I don’t care how old they are…..they’re all pups) the best food we can, based on the information available from many sources. I’ve made my own food for several pups, because that was what was needed at that time in their life. I really like the fact that ‘Honest Kitchen’ makes a dog food with human grade ingredients. I will not bore you or preach to you…..just do your own research. At this time, I feel this is a great dog food as well as a training treat because of the size of the individual pieces. The only negative I can say about this food is there seems to be a lot more ‘powdered ,crushed pieces’, in the bag than I’ve ever experienced in any other dog food. I bought a 4lb bag this time and decided to sift the powder out and measure it….. it may not seem like much but it was a whole cup of powder in a 4 lb bag! I gotta wonder how much that amounts to in the formed kibbles??? Lily has no interest in eating powder in the bottom of her bowl so that always goes in the garbage, out for the birds, or in the water for fish food. What a waste, especially for the price! It doesn’t seem to matter whether I buy it on Amazon or pick it up @ Petco, it’s always the same. Honest Kitchen really needs to re-evaluate their packaging.

Negative side effects
After doing a ton of research, I chose this food because of the pure and honest ingredients and the lack of preservatives. However, after feeding it to my eight week old German Shepherd puppy the very first time she got severe, diarrhea and vomited, I thought, perhaps she had eaten too fast, or had an upset tummy due to a food change, went back to her original food, which is an expensive food veterinarian recommended. It has some preservatives, I made her a serving as half-and-half, to ease her into it, after the vomiting and diarrhea. We rested her tummy for three days, and then served only the honest dog food again severe and I do mean severe diarrhea, much worse than the first time. So no more of this dog food for my pup. Just an FYI.
