What a great design. Best no solder banana plugs I have every used.
Kind of expensive but definitely worth it. These are the easiest, most reliable no solder (and no hassle) banana jacks I have ever come across. I think back on all the years I spent soldering together custom speaker cables or fiddling with set screws on the older non-solder jacks. These are so easy and quick to set up and the wires definitely will not come loose. The design of the conductor retaining mechanism really locks the stranded speaker wire in place and also maximizes the surface contact area of the wire to the plug. The jacks themselves are really stable and have just the right amount of retention into the jack plug of my Denon AV receiver and my whole house speaker distribution/switcher system. The diameter and grip on the housing also makes the plugs very easy to handle and gives the wiring a very professional look. I only wish I had known about these earlier. Definitely deserves 5 stars or more IMHO. I highly recommend theses to anyone who needs to build their own custom length banana jack cables.

Best choice for a solidly built, easy to assemble, and pocket book friendly cable end
I grabbed the banana and spade plugs both - build quality is high, threads to assemble are machined perfectly, and they work very well. I built cables with 14 and 12awg wire both and they both worked as expected with no issues during assembly, connectivity, or in actual use passing sound. I was interested in having good speaker cable, good connections into my amp and speakers, and good overall sound. Most of the crazy expensive speaker cables are 8 feet - I needed 25 footers to work with my setup - so I grabbed some Mogami and Canare cable, shrink wrap, wire loom, and these cable ends and built some very nice cables. It would be nice to A/B these with some of the AQ or other expensive banana or spade connectors, but $50 per pair is a lot and I really think they would sound the same in most systems. If you're stuck $15k or more you may opt to go the expensive route. For everyone else, buy with confidence and make high quality cables with these cable ends. If I need more I'll order these for sure. Quality product.

Great for stereos and speaker wires.
These are perfect, great secure connection, insulated, no issues and worked great.

Excellent Product, First Time I Rated a Product 5 🌟
Excellent product, exactly as pictured. Easy to use & install. I have never added any audio plugs to sterio wire before, I have always bought the products pre-installed. I had to look up definition of sheerness-- assuming it has something to due with the inability to pull apart wire from cable once installed , I gave 5 🌟.The procedure was simple, I did not even have the proper tools. I had purchased 14 gage 100 % copper PVC coated stereo wire. I used one tool, a carpet knife/blade & carefully bisected the 2 copper cables of the stereo cable approx. 2 1/2". I then removed approx. 1/4 - 3/8" of the PVC coating from the end of each copper wire by lightly pressing my knife into the PVC coating around each wire & pulling it off, sometime in pieces. Ideally these should be done with a wire stripper tool. After removing the coating, I thread each wire through the bottom half of the plug until at least 1/4" of the bare copper wire pushed through. The most difficult part was bending down the copper wire around the entire circumfrence of the bottom half of the plug. Good luck getting it to look as even & pretty as pictured, lol! Not that it is especially difficult but if you are not wearing gloves, it tends to prick your fingers ( that's it!) If you are wearing plastic/ rubber gloves, I suspect that the wire would tear the gloves & heavy duty gloves might interfere with the detailed tasks of separating the wire. I guess you have to just grin & bear it but it's not really all that bad & I doubt that the wire needs to be perfectly spread out in fact I know it doesn't need to be since mine wasn't but yet resulted in successfull installation. & Great sound quality! Then all you been to do is screw the top half on & Voila, your done. Low profile, fit snugly into stereo or speaker port.

Solidly-built but may require additional insulation
These are very solidly constructed, but it is unclear whether the housing is electrically insulated from the conductor/terminal portion. The housing is made of brass, which gives them a solid and durable feel, however since these are right-angle plugs, there is a high possibility that the housing of the positive plug may end up coming in direct contact with the housing of the negative plug, since they can freely rotate around in the terminal sockets. If the housing is not insulated from the conductor, that could create a short-circuit which may damage your amplifier. To be on the safe side, after installing the terminals on the wires, I covered the housings in 3/4" heat-shrink tubing (punching a 1/4" hole in the side of the tubing so only the banana plug tip would be exposed.) You could instead just wrap the housings in electrical tape but I wanted something prettier and more permanent.Maybe I was being overly cautious, but looking at how they were constructed it really appeared that the conductor portion was in direct contact with the metal housing. I couldn't find anything in the literature stating that the housings were insulated. Better safe than sorry! All that said, I still recommend these as they are very sturdy and I have had great results with the Sewell brand, and I do prefer the "mushroom" style of wire connection to other types like those with set-screw connections. You have to strip just the right amount of insulation off the wire (strip off too much, and there is excess wire that won't fit when you go to screw the housing on; strip off too little and there won't be enough wire to "mushroom" over and make a secure connection) but once you get that right, they go together easily and are very durable.
