Not nearly as good as it used to be
Ten years ago or so, this used to come in a natural casing and be rich and flavorful. I dont' know if the casing was real or just for show, but it looked like and tasted like the real deal. The package still claims 'traditional methods' which must be a joke. This version of the bainco d'oro is just a greasy, sour tube of meat. Tastes as if loaded with lactic acid, which I doubt anyone claims is a traditional method. I can't taste the wine, the rich meaty flavor and dark color is completely absent. The entire experience is a greasy desiccated mouthfeel, a sour black pepper flavor that deafens your tongue like cheap sour candy. Poor value and poor quality, will not be buying again.

Taste
I bought this sausage in Florida and it was delicious I anxiously waiting for it to be delivered to me and was very disappointed as the taste and flavor were lacking and totally different than the one I bought at the supermarket in Florida

My husband loved it
For 100% complete transparency, I only purchased this because I wanted to try one of the famous salads that were always shown on keeping up with the Kardashians. The recipe raved about boars head, salami, and how it would set the salad apart, if one was to try to do some thing that wasn’t boars head. A salad was good but I didn’t necessarily see what the entire rave was about when it came to the salami. I know I could have found this key ingredient locally and cheaper but locally meant driving 20 miles out my way to find this particular brand and I was not all that committed. My husband thinks it was worth the entire 16 or $17 that we spent. Matter fact, when the salad was being made, I didn’t know if I was going to have any salami, because he was slicing it off in chunks, thinking out loud about all the wonderful things he could do with the salami as he loves to cook. so if you like salami, give it a try.
