Well designed and built wire strippers by Knipex do a very fine job at stripping
Knipex wire strippers are made with very high quality. These are very sharp and do remove insulation quite easily. They feel very rugged and well-built in the hand. I'm not a professional electrical just a weekend DIY warrior, maybe installing some light switches and other simple stuff. I know the pros use these, and they last a long time. For me, they will probably last a lifetime.I have not tried the screw cutting, but all the reviews I read say it works, and no need to thread the screws in like other strippers. These are so sharp and precise that they will cut your electrical screws clean! I've watched many YouTube videos demonstrating this. Looking forward to needing a screw cut down now

Knipex did it again
I am an aircraft mechanic and third world house electrician. These are by far the nicest strippers and cable cutters I have ever used. The unique ridged design of the strippers makes it very easy to hit the right size without having to read the gauge size every time. The cutter section is very sharp and strong. I wouldn’t try to cut a nail or piano wire, but for electrical wires and cables it works very well. Highly recommend for anyone who is doing more than occasional electrical work. Well worth the knipex price.

Slices through screws like butter
These are excellent combination pliers for what I do, test fixture assembly. I can strip wire with these, grip things like connectors and screws, and the screw cutters actually work very well. I was using the screw cutters on some crimpers, which have been fine for soft metal such as brass or aluminum and maybe low hardness steel, but it just bent a medium hardness steel screw. These sliced right through it like nothing and I didn't need to thread anything. This is very useful for me, because sometimes I need to make mechanical alterations to the loadboard that require me to trim screws, or I'm just not given the right screws in the first place.

Professional Strippers take notice!
The media could not be loaded. Quality.Reliability.Affordability.Longevity.Make whatever acronym you want from the letters QRA and L but the result is always relevant to the Knipex Brand! These Professional Strippers will not disappoint. There is no play or slop in the movement of the two sides. Smooth and effortless is the best way I can describe the functionality of this product. Some however have remarked on a clunky aspect in the movement while using them. It's really nothing that a little 3-in-1 oil cannot remedy. Honestly any steel tool that moves will typically benefit from such preventative maintenance. The comfort grip is exactly that. It might have been a bonus to have the wire size etched in both sides but I'm nitpicking. The locking mechanism upon opening was slightly stiff but again, oil your steel tools! I'm incredibly happy to have found the Knipex Brand. Although no one company makes the best of every tool, some brands come quite close. /wink

Amazing
Pros: Very sharp, not needing to thread in screws to cut them is amazing, the style of the cutters gives you extra leverage, you can easily twist solid wire.Cons: if you use heavily and/or twist with them they start to squeak, and it’s the worst sound I’ve ever heard (this can be fixed by oiling). DO NOT MESS WITH THE HINGE SCREW. YOU WILL NEVER GET THE TORQUE CORRECT

New overpriced, maybe too good for even the pros.
Nice tool. I am fond of the lock. the non lever type is not obtrusive. That is good. The blades are thick and the knives sharp. I don't think it fits stranded wire too well. Lots of nicks if using 12/12 Lots of tearing insulation if using 10/12 i.e., the solid hole, same gauge is too small, the next size up is too large. It would be nice if the tip was crosshatched. That way the twisted wires would not splay when twisted. I have been using an Irwin pair that works great except for the narrow tip that splayed the wires. I used the Irwin to strip then crosshatched duckbills to twist. Two tools, With this one I was trying to get down to one. Didn't work., Maybe I can get a diamond file and cut crosshatching in. We will see. Anyhow, these are built well. Maybe overbuilt since the others cost 1/4th as much so you can replace them often and not come close to the cost of this one. However, if this lasts 4x longer before going dull or opening up even more (which would make it pretty much useless for stranded, unless you want nicked and damaged wire, it might be OK. Again, We will see. I'll give them a good month of work before I decide to go back to before and carry an additional tool or not.

A must have
No matter what trade you're in, if you're going to be working with wire, this tool will come in handy. You'd be able to strip wire (I've stripped 10 guage down to 18 guage) without a problem. You can make joints with the same tool just as easily so you won't have to grab your linemans or whatever else..These have a nice grip, and don't weigh much, the ergonomics fit great in my hands..After having them for about 2 weeks, they got rained on and developed an expected amount of oxidation, but didn't negatively effect the performance. I've dropped them, cut MC (12/2), and even used the screw cutting feature and they're holding up after a few months of every day use.The only gripe I have is that sometimes the cutters need to be hyperextended to be able to fit around certain things like the MC I mentioned, but that's not typical for it's use and I'm still glad I have them. A bit pricier than others, but well worth it due to its design, speed, and wire stripping ease. Don't pass this up.. I promise you'll love them..
