There's two decent mass-market 'alternative' (mushroom-based, vegetarian I guess) oyster sauces for sale in the U.S. that I'm aware of, and this is one of them. The other one comes in similar shaped but green-labelled bottle and comes from Taiwan, you probably know it. If you live in North America, this slightly newer challenger might be worth investigating -- it has a somewhat similar taste (but still a noticeably unique 'personality') and has the added advantage of not needing to travel halfway across the globe to get to your kitchen. Works great as a base for mixing with soy sauce for homemade stir-fry goodness, or really any recipe demanding oyster sauce.

This is a large amount of good-tasting goo. It tastes and smells sort of like oyster sauce but it has its own character. You get a large amount for the price. I would use this over real oyster sauce in some dishes, but in others I would use the real oyster sauce. I recommend giving it a try.
