Petnostics PETN-10-1 Urine Test Kit

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of this at first, as I don’t usually go around collecting pee from my dog. I have an Australian Cattle Dog, and he’s really active, so I’ve never had anything to worry about. Seeing Petnostics in a magazine the other day got me curious, so I ordered this from Amazon and received everything in a few days.The Petnostics kit comes with a urine cup, their special lid, and a latex glove (nice thoughtful touch). I then went about trying to collect my dog’s pee. At first, this was a little tricky, because I couldn’t quite time when to put the cup under my dog when he lifted his leg to relieve himself. Luckily, my dog likes to mark, and so I was able to get his urine by the third time he lifted his leg.Once I got the urine in the cup, I screwed on the special lid and opened the Petnostics app. The app is well-designed and easy to use, and walked me step-by-step through the whole process. I then got to the screen where the camera appears and lined up the phone with the cup. This also was a little tricky at first, but after a few seconds moving the phone around to better line up with the grid displayed on the screen, the app found the cup and I was able to see the results.Not knowing much about the different health parameters, everything came back as normal except for Glucose, which showed as Small. With my family history, I know Glucose for humans can be a sign of diabetes, so this got me a little worried. I then called my vet and told her about the results, and she asked me to bring my doggie in for a checkup. Good thing I did! The glucose in my dog’s urine was confirmed by my vet, and fortunately because we caught this early, my vet said that the treatment for possible diabetes is not too bad, as we’re first going to switch my dog’s diet and see how he responds.Anyway, sorry for the long review, but I wanted to be thorough, as I really believe Petnostics is a helpful and useful product. Thank you for this product- I have a 15+ year old black lab who gets frequent urinary tract infections and I needed it over the weekend to avoid a visit to the Animal ER- my dog had just finished a two week course of antibiotics about 2 weeks ago and I was pretty sure that the infection had returned but I didn't want to start her back on antibiotics until I knew for sure, and sure enough- she was postitive for all the indicators of another infection. This allowed me to start on antibiotics and I will still take her to her regular vet for follow up and to make sure anything else isn't going on. I can't thank you enough for this product and I will be ordering another one just to have in reserve. It was very easy to use, the app took you through all the steps although I wetted the read stick before going through the steps along with the app, so I had to "guess" at the 60 second time before the actual countdown ended- another critique mention to follow the app steps exactly, which I will do the next time, but it still worked perfectly.

This was good when I needed it. I had an elderly collie which I suspected was having issues. This was a quick way to see what was going on before the expensive vet bill. Sadly she was in kidney failure which this test showed and the vet confirmed. Good product. Bad thing is getting the pee. It does come with a glove and I was willing to do the job for my family member dog. Saw this on Shark Tank. Ordered and got the next day. Took my collie to the vet immediately. Cheaper to order through Amazon and save the shipping. Good idea! Just confirmed what I already suspected.

This is a wonderful idea. We unfortunately got two false readings from one kit. We have a senior Corgi who has been having some accidents. We used a kit and the Protein and Bilirubin readings were off the charts on our little guy. We were worried that it may have been a Kidney or Liver issue before buying the product and when we saw this we expected the worst. In to the vet's we went. At the vet's the urinalysis came back great. Blood work, no problems.Its good to know there was no issue, but it is a shame that we went to such lengths. $300 later He was put on incontinence medication which is seeming to help. It was going to be our first attempt prior to getting spooked into the blood test buy a false positive.

This test is easy to do and very easy to read and understand the results (using the free ap) which I was able to email to our vet to add to my dogs medical record. Although the vet was initially sceptical and repeated the test in the surgery, the results were exactly the same and pionted towards a UTI which would not have been tested for had I not asked for it. My dog is on steroids so I love the fact I can catch and treat any side effects early with this product which gives me back a little control of his ongoing care at a very affordable price.

I found this very helpful. my dog wasn't himself and I wasn't sure why. One visit to the vet runs about $75-$100 depending on what is wrong. I remember seening this product on tv and thought it was cheaper then a trip to my vet, so I went to Amazon and bought it. It was shipped to me within a week. I did the test and found he had high levels of glucose and some ketones which could mean your pet has diabetes. The app allows you to forward the results to anyone so I forwarded it to my vet whom then wanted me to bring my dog in to confirm the results. My dog has diabetes, this test saved me a lot of money. I will recommend this to everyone I know.

I wanted to share that we did this with our havanese. 3 things came back one was pretty alarming, so I took in to my vet right away. She ran urinalysis and it contradicted everything the pet diagnostics told us in their report. I’m happy that they were wrong but wanted to share our experience. Accuracy is 100% off in our case

We saw Petnostics on Shark Tank and were eager to try the product as we often spend time with our dog in remote places without easy access to vets. Our Great Dane's urine showed markers for a UTI. Started her on antibiotic and now we're clear. Had a simple question and Petnostic staff replied quickly and professionally. Promptly ordered more test kits and UTI test strips. Cannot recommend highly enough.
