Previously I had a metal frame bed also, but the frame was thin and after awhile the frame started to bend and squeak. I bought this new frame and the metals are stronger because it was thicker and the design look stylish. There are no rough edges so the chance of accidentally running into the bed header and footer at night. I feel the height of the bed is just right. Sometimes my 4 year old son comes on the bed as well and he can easily climb up and down the bed. Some of the aspect that I don’t feel is positive is that there are many pieces and it took me around 2 hours to put together. Some parts of the frame did not fit well as it was kind of tight so I had to use a hammer to put it in place. The tools that was supplied with the frame was small so I had to use my own tools and setup went faster. But after the setup of the frame, I still like the bed. It was comfortable and strong.

I want to start by saying this is a revised review. After some fairly significant issues, the company I ordered from worked with me and we reached a solution very quickly. So initial issues aside, I am reviewing the frame AFTER the fact. I will say that it is definitely worth it providing there are no issues. My initial issues were a late delivery, and missing parts. The delivery is unrelated to the product itself, so I will not be rating against it for that. The lack of a 5th star is for the missing parts on my specific order. Now let's move on.To clarify, the listing and the images show that the frame is a 14 inch lift. Let me warn you now, that it IS NOT. It is only a 12 inch lift. Anything taller than 12 inches WILL NOT fit under the frame. The frame comes with adjustable heights, 9 inch and 12 inch. If you can deal with 12 inch max lift, then you have nothing to worry about here.The instructions with the frame are POOR. However they are easy to figure out once you spend a minute looking at what you have available. The head-board and foot-board can be attached in 2 directions, bolts out, or bolts in. I suggest facing them out because they could snag sheets or your mattress otherwise. Not a con at all, just an observation.People have mentioned missing holes and creaking sounds. After my frame was assembled I can report that I have experienced neither of these issues. The frame is rock solid and silent. The paint finish is a bit rough in some places, but if you choose your part locations carefully you shouldn't have a problem.Lastly, if you are not scared of having to make a trip to a home store to buy any missing nuts or bolts should that happen. As well as being a bit handy with tools like a rubber mallet and a drill if you're missing a hole or two. You will love this frame. I am sure the missing holes and missing parts are probably minor occurrences. Mine came missing some nuts and bolts but everything else was fine. I've read other reviews of having all the nuts and bolts but missing other parts, so your mileage may vary.All in all, this is a great frame. Solid, nice looking, and easy to assemble if you just pay attention to what you have. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second one. The initial frustration of missing parts and slow shipping was just a minor hiccup I can forgive at this point.

There’s some good and some bad- overall we are pleased with our purchase so far. Shipped quickly, box looked fine. The next bit here is for couples, people who plan to assemble by themselves may find it useful as well, but I feel obligated to share the experience we had as a couple putting this together. We got the box in the house, unloaded everything and... there was a big bag of bolts and nuts- none of them were separated, none of the pieces were labeled with letters even though the directions (which were just small pictures on one single page) used letters to identify what pieces were needed for each step. Now, I will say that for us this wasn’t a problem- we counted and sorted the nuts and bolts to make sure that we had the correct number of each size and identified the pieces using teamwork and impeccably honed communication skills that can only be acquired if at least one of you are in therapy. I would say figuring out the pieces and squinting at the pictures to figure out what pieces were in each step took almost as much time as assembling the thing. But I’m getting ahead of myself here- okay, so we were getting all the big pieces together for assembly and some of the holes didn’t line up perfectly, most of the pieces didn’t slide into place as easily as the video would lead you to believe- brute strength is the only thing that got some of these pieces together, the sentence “I’m sorry I don’t seem to have super Hulk smashing abilities like you do” may have been uttered, I definitely broke into a sweat during this process and I don’t ever sweat. I bruised my thumb using the Allen wrench. Anyway, we got the bolts situated and when putting on the nuts that have the rounded caps, some of the caps broke off so be aware of that. Basically if you can’t assemble Ikea furniture with your partner without giving each other the silent treatment for the rest of the day afterwards, this might not be the bed for you. Having said all that, we now have it fully assembled, it looks great, we’re happy with the price we paid, and it seems sturdy enough to withstand activities other than sleeping- a great selling point if you’ve ever had a bed collapse underneath you. You can pick the height you want the bed to sit at and even on the lower option, there’s plenty of room to easily store using those long flat Rubbermaid bin things if you so desire. If your mattress is any thicker than 14”, I recommend using the lower setting otherwise you won’t see hardly any of the headboard and if you are any shorter than 5’4, you will have to jump into the bed if you’ve got a thicker mattress on the higher setting.

The bought black bedstead has thick steel pipes, strong whole bedstead, even painting and no peculiar smell when used. The key point is that the price is super cheap and the cost performance is very high. My father likes it very much. He doesn't like the wooden bed frame he bought before. He said that every time he goes up, he will make a creaking sound, and he will worry about falling down when he falls asleep. Because the iron frame can bear hundreds of pounds, I bought it immediately, and it is convenient to install. There is no bed board in the middle. The whole bed frame is made of iron and can be used with a thin pad. It is very convenient and practical.
