Great alternative jack mount for jeep jk
This is a great alternative to the three main ways you see hi lift Jack's are mounted to jeeps. I had my jack mounted to the back tailgate with the Rampage mounting brackets, but want to change over to a body mounted tire carrier. The design of tire carrier I went with didn't allow me to attach the jack to it the way I wanted. I looked at hood mounted jack mounts but the weight of the jack coupled with the awkwardness of trying to take it off made me search for another option! When I saw this I watched several videos on installing it and people's ratings and decided to go with it. This jack mount is easy to install, it's easy to secure and remove if needed. Some people ha e commented that although the jack licks on to the mount, the mount could be removed from the jeep. I think that would be highly unlikely considering where the mounting bolts are located... behind the jack! The only hard part of the install was getting the small "O" ring on the mounting bolt to secure the lock bolt to the bracket! Used three hands and two needle nose pliers! Luckily they give you two, because I bent the first!

I can't say enough good things.
There are many great choices available on mounting brands and styles, it's hard to pick one over another. All of them are great, I'm sure. It all boils down to two things; function and aesthetics. I honestly had a hard time choosing the system and location that suited me the best. A few questions you might want to consider to help out are, "Does the mount"..: * offer a solid carry platform? * offer easy access and removal of the jack? [Hi-Lift jacks are heavy] * offer a way to secure the jack from convenient "opportunity theft" * cause an obstruction to lights, mirrors, windows, doors, windshield washers, etc... * create the aesthetic look you envision for your JEEP. This is a solidly built unit. Once mounted on the corner of the A-Pillar, it is immovable. I have a 46" Hi-Lift, and have never seen it move, wobble, vibrate, or shake, or rattle. I purchased and installed the driver's side unit, as I was afraid it could interfere with the addition of a snorkel in the near future. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that, not only did the side mount jack not interfere with the door and mirror, I couldn't even see it, as it was blocked by the A-pillar. As far as function, the jack is easy to insert and remove, needing NO special tools. The Bolt lock is an awesome addition. I have a Bolt lock on my spare tire, and my hood. My ignition key opens all locks. That's real convenience. If I had one little criticism.. and really, it's a small one.. is the snap ring the unit uses to hold in the retaining pin. This is a critical, weight bearing pin, held in place, but a tiny snap ring that, incidentally, I ruined using a bit too much spread with my snap ring pliers. A quick run to Auto Zone for a pack of assorted snap rings, and I was back up to speed.

It's OK could be better thought out
Installed this on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler 2 door JK. It is not really that hard except for the locking ring that needs to go over the locking pin and be tightly sat in a grove at the bottom to secure in place. Well that locking ring is smaller that the pin and is almost impossible to get over the pin. And, to do this, you will need to expand it with needle nose and after that it will NEVER sit tight enough in the groove. The locking mechanism is not super tight and is loose and to fic this I am going to have a friend weld it tight otherwise the lock is useless. Its a bad design and they should come up with a better way to have that seat so it is secure. The current way is not the best way. UPDATE 5/22/25: I returned original and got another one and this time I purchased a C clip kit and special tools. Still tried the ring and I really just could not get it. I used a C clip see pic and it secured tight. The locking mechanism is OK but too great. But so far it is working. The rest of the kit is great and is a great solution. They just need to rethink there whole locking mechanism and clips.

I tried several mounts before. This worked really well for me. It secures the jack well with no vibration behind the A-pillar to the side of the truck so that it does not obstruct the driver's view and the lock, easily keyed to your stock Jeeps key, is an ample deterrent from theft and looks nifty. Easy to install and the jack becomes easily accessible when you need it on the trail.

I love this mounting bracket. It looks great on my TJ and it's a lot more convenient then mounting across the hood or on the tailgate. When I received mine the lock had already been matched to a key but I just sent Bolt Lock a message directly and I had a new lock system within a week. Great Product!
