I'm letting this become Acclimated to my Room, first.
This is a Full Sized (12.6oz) Aged, RIPE (Cooked), Puh-Erh Tea Cake, from Yunnan Province, in Mainland, CHINA, so it has a Much Shorter (about 5 years, maximum, before it starts to go BAD) Life Span, before it's Expiration Date. Unlike RAW (Not-Cooked) Puh-Erh Tea Cakes, which should be Aged for At Least 10 years, First, before Cracking Open the Cake, up to at least 50 years Aged, getting Better and Better in Taste, Flavor, and Aroma, for each year it's AGED, knowing that there are RAW (Not-Cooked) Puh-Erh Tea Cakes over 100-years Aged, that sell for Thousands of Dollars, and can be aged FOREVER, as far as we know, so I'm letting this RIPE (Cooked) Puh-Erh Tea Cake sit in my Bedroom, and become Acclimated to my House, before I Crack It Open, to Brew and Taste. I shall UPDATE this Review, AFTER I do that, and will let you know my Honest Opinion of this RIPE (Cooked) Puh-Erh Tea Cake, at that time. Until then, I'm giving it the Benefit-of-The-Doubt, and Rating it 5-STAR's, for now. So... STANDBY... for now... !!!

good for value
This tea is good for value. Not the best around, but at very reasonable price.

Tastes like earth
The best way to describe this tea I might have to start with a little background. The tea is fermented in high humidity and aged. This causes the tea leaves to be preserved while also being decomposed. This created an alkaline element. So the way I can describe the flavor of this tea is. Imagine a day in late fall. You’re gardening. Clearing fallen leaves to harvest root vegetables and it’s just begun to rain. The smell of the earth, plants and the rain. Are exactly the flavor of this tea. Hope this helps :) very good tea. 9/10

Too light in taste and not aged enough
While this tea was not expensive, I'd much rather pay more to get a more puerh taste. I think this tea is way too new and of lesser quality.

STICK AND STEMS
This is by far, the worst batch of puerh tea I have ever encountered. I have tried over ten different brands and some have a lot of stems in them, which I have come to expect, but this one is the worse. First off it was very loosely packed. You can crumble it with your hands, no Knife or tea pick required. When I was crumbling it up, I noticed a lot of shredded sticks throughout the whole cake. I put my usual size pinch of tea in my cup and poured the water over it. I like to drink it Grandpa style. There was a LOT of "Stuff" floating to the top. Like I said, I am used to some stems in there, but this was half of what I pinched into the cup. I ended up needing to use about twice what I normally do for a cup of tea. Some brands are better than others, and I have never complained about the quality of tea before, but I had to say something about this. The flavor is OK, not great, just blah. Probably because it is mostly stems and ground up sticks. I am waiting for another cake to come, and I will throw this one away, it is that bad. Be forewarned.

Great Value!
This was my first Pu-Erh tea cake that I ever tried but I have since bought and tasted cakes that cost $80 or more. This is a fantastic value! For me, after tasting 10+ Pu-Erh's, They have all been similar but the main thing you are looking for is smoothness and body. The smoothness and body of this one is excellent I think and has a very rich and oily texture. I get hints of roasted tobacco, vanilla, and a little bit of musk. All of these things I enjoy immensely for my morning cup of tea. For $28, at the time of writing this, you are gonna have a cake that will last you months and give you a nice comforting brew every morning.

An okay purchase. Sweet aftertaste
Very good aftertaste and smooth flavor. A bit on the weaker side so you want to add a lot of leaf to your brewing. It could be cheaper. Another cake the same sized I got at $15 and is much stronger. Not as bold in the aged tangy aftertaste as this one though. This should be more around $20 than $30.
