Would this lens be suitable for night sky photography on a D7200?

The answer is "maybe. It will depend on your expectations and needs. This lens suffers tremendously from comatic and chromatic aberration on point sources, like stars. For astronomical imaging, it is very limited.

I'm trying to decide between this lens (20mm Prime $796.95), or the Nikon 10-24mm DX wide angle zoom ($809.00) for my D5200. Quality wise. Thanks!

I agree with others recommending the 10-24mm. I love the 20mm 1.8G but have a FX body. With the 5200 it would only be 30mm which is no where near a ultra wide angle. Save some money and get the sigma 10-20 or tokina 11-16mm. Buy one used and then save the remainder towards an FX body in the future. You can get the sigma 10-20 used for around $300. It is a great lens for the money

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G ED Lens WILL THIS WORK ON THE d610

I have the D600 and just got this lens. It works very well. As the D610 is the update to the D600 it should work fine.

The Amazon Filter is stating this lens is NOT compatible with the Nikon D700, however, I think this is a mistake. Is it compatible with the D700??

I have a D700 and this lens works fine. This is a Nikon "F" mount lens. All Nikon DSLR and SLR cameras for the past 50~60 years are F mount. All F mount lenses will work on all F mount cameras. It's like saying "will a 14mm wrench fit on a 14 mm bolt?" The answer will always be yes.
