Moleskine 13 x 21 cm Paper Tablet Digital Notebook with Dotted Pages and Hard Cover - Black

I prefer not to take anything into a meeting that suggests that I will be concentrating on taking notes rather than participating, so I have used smartpens for a long time. The voice recording is very good, ideal in fact for a 'darkened room' presentation, assuming permission is granted. It's also handy for departmental and/or Board Meetings where it may be crucial to make sure that everything is recorded.As you would expect from Moleskine, the design principles are spot on. The Ellipse Pen shape takes some getting used to, and the angle of the pen to the paper needs to be optimal as well, especially when starting writing from 'off'. This instant on feature is a good innovation for me, although I find it better to press the pen to the page slightly and wait a beat before writing, otherwise the first letters may get lost. The 'tablet' book design is not for me; it is style over substance, and makes life more difficult, especially as there is no ribbon to keep your place. The size is identical to my ipad Mini, and I would prefer something more pocketable, for example like their notebooks, for goodness' sake! The tiny little books are too small to write steadily on, and the ipad Mini-sized ones are too big to draw out subtly in a meeting.What is impressive is the transfer to phone/tablet/PC software, which is almost instant and generally pretty accurate. The main downside to this is that you have to make up your mind which device is going to be most useful to you, because you can't keep a full record on all of them without shutting them all down except your favourite.It's a big step forward from the Echo smartpens

Be aware, this notebook is not reusable like other smart notebook systems, which is not made clear even on the Moleskine website. The notebook and pen come with lots of meaningless words about the wonders of the Moleskine brand but no useful instructions.

Actually although this is the second purchase, I find that I am forced to buy rather than chose to buy - I really don't like the bevelled, protruding pages but this is the only book that I can see works with the pen...if there was other options out there - let me know...

Acquistato in bubdle con la penna moleskine + ellipse, ed è stato un acquisto forzato perché la penna smart funziona solamente sulla carta micropuntinata di questo speciale taccuino.Mio fratello, architetto, si dice soddisfatto di questo regalo, perché utilizza il dispositivo per avere schizzi e disegni direttamente trasferiti e salvati in digitale.A prima vista sembra un normale quaderno moleskine con la copertina (nera o rossa) in simil pelle e l'elastico, mentre invece contiene 173 pagine micropuntinate, progressivamente più larghe rispetto alla copertina, che permettono la localizzazione dei tratti sulla pagina virtuale dell'app.Il costo di penna e quaderno non è contenuto, e anzi va ad aggiungersi successivamente anche quello per l'acquisto delle cartucce di ricambio della penna e di nuovi quaderni.Tuttavia, è un dispositivo utile per chi scansiona o trascrive al computer i propri schizzi e appunti, perché consente di azzerare i tempi di digitalizzazione, e dunque consiglio l'acquisto in quest'ottica.
