The company sent seasoning instructions before it arrived! In the photo I put one of those cheap mechanics gloves for a size comparison. It's exactly as advertised, and I love it! It won't slide around while you're working with it. I seasoned it the night I got it and made guacamole the next day. Not a gift for a feeble person, but a feeble person isn't going to want to pound out a guac, anyhow. It's a lovely piece of stonemasonry, and I like that there are two pestles and a soft, stick-on base fuzzy thing to reduce scratching where you place it, cuz it's heavy. It was a very positive experience with both the product and the seller! I highly recommend it as a kitchen or studio implement of destruction. Bump and grind, baby, bump and grind! Guac and mole 'til yer heart's content.

This mortar and pestle is the perfect combination of weight and natural interior surface. It is nearly effortless to grind anything and the results are so much better than blending in a processor appliance. Great value too.
