L'ho comprato per fare un regalo ad un mio collega, che è un grande fan di Nolan. Gli è piaciuto molto e non lo ha trovato per nulla banale o scontato. Consegna impeccabile come sempre.

I just finished The Nolan Variations, and as a long-time fan of Christopher Nolan—especially Interstellar and Inception—this book was an absolute treat. It really feels like you’re getting a peek into how Nolan thinks and why his films hit so differently. I loved the way it breaks down his ideas, his approach to storytelling, and all the little details behind the scenes. For me, it made me appreciate his movies even more. A fantastic read for anyone who’s ever been fascinated by Nolan’s worlds.

I am a huge fan of Christopher Nolan. This book seamlessly interweaves biographical gems with insightful readings of Nolan's movies, from Following to Dunkirk. The author delves deep into the epistemological underpinnings of Nolan's oeuvre, identifying recurring themes such as the nature of the self, memory, perception, the psychology of space, and the vagaries of time. Nolan's key influences are also highlighted, paying homage to the lineage of art, literature, and cinema that shaped his work both thematically and aesthetically. Whilst the author occasionally ventures biographical interpretations of Nolan's work, the Director himself resists such, which serves to enhance the mystique of this visionary Director. This book is brilliantly written and reaches a satisfying equipoise between the emotive and intellectual in its treatment of Nolan's work. A must read for any fan of Nolan.
