I've only had this out on the water once but this thing pushes my 12 ft v hull around in the water with extreme ease. for the moment it's my main mode of propulsion and it does really well.the reverse works very wellthe 5 forward speeds are awesomei don't have a speedometer to measure sped but it feels like it pushes me about 3 or 4 mph this is at max setting 5if you're between this and a minkota try this out it's way less and if you're a tinkerer there are ways to make this run off a foot pedal or you can go full nerd and buy the iboat setup and it's still less than minkota and has spot lock

So far it's working like a charm. I bought this motor and a 12V-75AH batteryfor my Intex Excursion 5. I felt that a 30 lb. motor wouldn't be powerful enough, and a 55 lb. motor would put too much stress on the rear of the boat. I decided to split the difference to go with this 46 lb. I took the boat out with two of my friends for a few hours. The total passenger weight was about 510 lbs. and we cruised the Delaware River at a decent clip. The boat itself is made for up to 5 passengers with a total weight of 1300 lbs. Nothing to do with the motor, but I initially had it too low in the water whick made it much slower. After some online searching with my phone, the props should be 10"-12" below the surface of the water. I made the adjustment and we were cruising. I guess longevity will be the real test, but for now this motor is a winner. Not to mention it's less expensive than the top name brands.

Unfortunately the power indicator does not work with a Lifepo4 battery, so I bought a monitor separately. Seller said it should work - but in my research it is common that it does not. Power indicator shows full charge the entire time.Going from forward 1 to 2 to 3 there is not much noticeable difference if any. 4-5 increases a little.So for my application it is a two speed motor in forward. Also, it has alot of power on speed/gear one. Wish it would go a little slower.

5 people at around 700lbs and a 60lb dog in a 14 for Jon boat and this motor didn’t hesitate at all. Very nice and quiet.

Works better than I thought.

I could not be more disappointed. A brand new trolling motor that I anticipated using for fishing along the Ashley River in Charleston, SC.. absolutely did not work. I tried on multiple batteries, called in a favor and had a neighbor who happens to be an electrician check my work. To no avail after multiple hours in 90 degree temperatures. The motor hub was hot.. battery indicator were pegged but the trolling motor would not start. Truly disappointed.

I bought this trolling motor for fishing, I have a big aluminum boat and taught it would be great to move the boat quickly if needed. But unfortunately the speed on the first setting makes it impossible to troll for fishing.
