I've tried all different types of antibiotics and topical gels/creams to treat my acne, but nothing worked. I finally was given Accutane for the first time when I was 14. It was magical and completely cleared my skin up. It had some serious side effects, but I ignored them because the results were worth the torment. One in particular, still affects me today. My back lower back is very weak and it has severely limited my strength potential. I am now 27 and I've been on Accutane three times so far. This tells you that my acne is severe and very persistent. I was considering going on Accutane a fourth time. I went to the dermatologist and just like always they wanted exhaust all the other options before putting me on Accutane. Normally I wouldn't waste their time or mine, but since I had gotten back into powerlifting and I didn't want to wreck my back anymore I decided to let them try. I was put on antibiotics and tretinoin gel and my skin was no better! Another dermatologist added Klaron lotion and asked me to ween myself off the antibiotics. My skin was much better! I was so glad that something other than Accutane was actually working! Unfortunately, although my acne was being controlled it was no cleared. That is when I decided to give Pantothenic Acid a try. Within about a week I noticed a drastic difference. My face, which was usually very oily had almost NO oil, my existing nodules were healing, no new nodules had developed. Within the next week I received a compliment regarding my healing skin. I was extremely happy! This stuff definitely works in reducing the oil your body produces and in my case began clearing my acne! I just bought 4 more bottles and I plan to continue taking these indefinitely. I don't have any new nodules, just skin discoloration from prior nodules. I've only been on it for a little over a month, but I hope that my skin stays nodule free. Consistently taking the pills is very important! I noticed that if I missed a dosage (3 pills 4 times a day) my skin became oily and I developed a whitehead or two. I plan to taper off my dosage after 3 months. As a person who has dealt with Acne for over a decade I absolutely suggest you give this a try! My experience with it has been very good and I hope it is the same for you.

I suffered and battled from horrible acne since I was 16 and tried everything, murand, rx antibiotic, and probably most of the over the counter you can buy out there, and spend hundreds of dollars with doctors and aetheticians visits; my acne will be eliminated but not completely to my satisfaction and once I stop my expensive regimen, all cystic acne will come back...like it misses my face (GRRRRR!!!!) and two year ago, I went ahead and did the accutane treatment. It helped my skin alot but it very scary since I heard alot of horrible stories about it. Luckily, I only suffered from very dried skin and chapped lips. It also eliminated my body and chest cystic acne, but my face started getting oily again after six months getting off that treatment. I was devastated, and I don't want to be on it forever as it is very harsh for your liver and kidneys. So I went to all my topical regimen but as time goes by, it keeps getting worse and my face will get so oily again after an hour of applying my make-up. I was searching some facial wash and stumble upon one of the consumer's review and she mentioned about this vitamins that works like wonder, so I bought it and no harm since I did an extensive research and found that this stuff is safe and is water soluble so no over dose can occur and any exessive doses are excreted through urination. I started taking this 5/17, took 2 pills of 1000mg and the next day, I noticed that cystic acnes are more calm compare from the last few days that they were so inflammed and painful. Today is 5/20 and noticed a difference on the oil formation on my face. It cuts about 30-40% of the oil on my face thus far and the more inflammed cystic acnes are starting to dries up, this includes using my rx Taxorac topical cream. So far so good and I should post in a week or so to give you an update if this stuff really works as everyone that tried said it does.... My dosage/regimen is as follows: 4000mg of Pan Acid (2 in the morning and 2 at night) 1 5mg of zinc 1 B12 (it boost my energy) ------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE: 5/31/12 It has been about 2 weeks now and I significantly noticed a difference on my skin. The acne zits and flare ups before taking this product has gone down. It wasn't as inflammed and painful anymore, it seem to be healing and pores of my face seem be a lot smaller and because of this the oil doesn't seem to produce as much. I'll give another update in the next few weeks.

As a teenager I developed some pretty bad acne- the cystic kind that develops deep under the skin and takes forever to surface. I was also quite prone to acne scarring. I suffered for years until I turned 18 and could finally go on birth control. Yasmin was a miracle for my skin! Suddenly my skin was perfection! Eventually I went on Yaz as it was the 'new, safer' version. For years, all was well and good with the world until I received a blood test around age 24 or 25 and saw that my triglycerides were skyrocketing. My diet was good- not very much sugar or white carbs and I exercised pretty regularly and I was definitely not overweight. As it turns out, the Yaz was causing my trigs to increase to dangerous levels. This is a little known rare side effect of birth control. Thank god that was spotted because I was walking around with serious risk for heart attack or stroke- and a young, healthy female! ANYWAYS, I made the difficult decision to go off birth control. I haven't gone back on since as I'm just afraid of what it will do to my body. Lo and behold, my trigs levels decreased, thank goodness! However, to my dismay, after a few months my acne returned. What a nightmare =(. I tried several different things - nothing worked. After nearly a year of trying different things, I finally found this Kal Time-Released B5. I am a couple months in and taking 4 of these a day and a B complex supplement and my skin has improved dramatically. It's not a 100% cure-all and I suppose I could increase the dosage but I am already really happy with the results! I would definitely recommend trying it out. And don't even wait. Just do it! This could be the product that gets it under control finally! Find a level that you feel is appropriate for you and definitely take a B-complex because you do not want to have a decrease in your other B levels. Good luck guys! Uhh I guess I am supposed to say 'ask your doctor before taking it' and what not... and you probably should (but I didn't actually do that) -_-

Hope this post helps someone. I habe tried everything to have some relief ftom constant breakouts! I've suffered from mild acne prone skin since I was about 12. I've been on a light dosage of accuntane when I was about 23. Definitely cleared my skin but I was afraid of them. Plus, I was ready to start a family so I stopped taking them. A few years later after having my baby my acne returned! Fast forward I found out about these and now I'm 33 and these totally worked for my oily, acne prone skin. However, they are very large and hard pills. They were difficult to swallow sometimes, luckily they don't have a bad taste. I noticed a substantial difference with the 1000 mg versus the 500 mg. I was taking about 8 - 500 mg per day of a brand of pantothenic acid sold at whole foods. However, once I got these I noticed better results and less oil production. I took between 4 to 6 of these per day and noticed less oil and clearer skin along with my pores shrinking which I am thrilled about because my pores were huge! I'm back on Amazon now to order more. BUT I'm ordering a different brand of 1000 mg because the other brand gives more pills (250) for about $25. Hopefully those will work just as well. Having to take between 4 to 8 pills in a day can get super expensive. Nevertheless, I'd rather have clear skin. If the other brand I'm ordering doesn't work I'll be back for the KAL brand.

I've had oily, acneic skin for 45 years. Even keeping the breakouts under control, I wanted less oil on my skin so I started taking this timed-release Pantothenic Acid twice a day with food (1,000mg in AM & PM) and within a few days noticed a significant decrease in facial sebum (oil) output. I do also take a multivitamin, zinc/copper combination (50/4 mg daily), fish oil capsules (2-3 gm/day), saw palmetto blend compound and milk thistle. I was concerned that it would cause dryer eyes (oil or meibum is lipid component of tears that prevents the tear from evaporating off your eye too quickly) as it would decrease oil, but it does not cause an increase in dry eyes at all for me. It is helping my face to appear much less shiny so I use far fewer oil blotting sheets (only once a day now!). I suppose I could increase the dose, but I want a bit of a glow that a moderate amount of sebum gives. This is definitely helpful for me in my acne healing plan. Please note that I am not a physician, and this is not to be construed as medical advice. This is just what works for me, so I am only sharing my review of this product. Update: I've used this product for several months now and it cleared my acne, excessively oily skin, and misery over my aging, acneic skin. I stopped taking it for a while, and the acne came right back. My body obviously needs Pantothenic acid in order to process oil and regulate itself. This timed release supplement is a great option for people who forget to take regular, non-timed release vitamin B5 at mid- day. It does not cause me to have any gastrointestinal upset. I now also take a vitamin B complex in the morning to help balance out the B vitamins and my energy during the day is significantly higher. Now that I'm again consistent with taking supplements, my skin is looking so much clearer, less inflamed & oily, and pore size is looking smaller, too. Without taking too much, I still have a bit of a "glow" (a good thing!) as I am not too dry. This is a keeper for me!
