Perfect authentic
I recently had the pleasure of acquiring a pair of Salomon shoes, and they have exceeded my expectations in every way. The level of craftsmanship is truly exceptional, showcasing meticulous attention to detail that speaks to the brand’s commitment to quality. The shoes effortlessly blend style and functionality, offering a sleek aesthetic that pairs well with both casual and active wear. Beyond their impressive appearance, these shoes deliver outstanding comfort and support, making them an ideal choice for long hours of wear. The materials feel both luxurious and durable, reinforcing the overall premium feel of the product. Salomon has masterfully crafted a pair of shoes that not only look remarkable but also perform to a high standard. A word of caution regarding sizing: I recommend opting for half a size larger than your typical shoe size. While I generally wear a slightly larger size, I found the fit to be more precise and comfortable after sizing up. This minor adjustment ensures a perfect fit, further enhancing the overall experience. In conclusion, Salomon shoes are a testament to exceptional quality and design. I highly recommend them for anyone seeking a refined, high-performance shoe—just be mindful of the sizing adjustment for the best fit.

Great Shoes, But Amazon Sent the Wrong Model – At a Higher Price!
I purchased the Salomon Speedcross 5 from Amazon, expecting the Gore-Tex (GTX) model, as clearly stated in the product title and description. However, what I received was the non-GTX version—despite paying the higher price for the GTX model. This was extremely frustrating, and I honestly felt cheated by the seller. Why I Still Kept Them: Despite my disappointment, I decided to keep the shoes because I genuinely love the Salomon Speedcross range. I previously owned a Speedcross 2 or 3 and always appreciated the Quicklace system for its convenience. While I could have returned them, I just couldn’t let go of the overall quality and comfort of this pair. Fit & Comfort: The fit is snug, much narrower than I usually prefer. My normal size is EU 44 or 44.5, but I had to size up to 45.5 to accommodate the tight fit. Even though it’s narrow, the comfort level is excellent, and it doesn’t hurt my feet. Performance & Features: ✅ Aggressive lugs for top-notch grip on rough terrains. ✅ Sock-like upper to keep dust and debris out—great for trails. ✅ Ortholite inner pad provides excellent cushioning and support. ✅ Classy design—I compared Speedcross 5 and 6 and preferred the more refined look of the Speedcross 5 over the trendier Speedcross 6. Final Thoughts: I’m still mad that I paid for the GTX model but got the non-GTX version at a higher price, and Amazon hasn’t corrected the listing. This kind of misleading information is unacceptable, as many customers would simply return the product. That said, the shoe itself is fantastic, and since Salomon is my favorite brand, I’m keeping them for the next couple of years. I just hope Amazon fixes this issue to prevent other buyers from facing the same problem. 💡 Would have been a 5-star review if I had received what I actually paid for!

I do a lot of trail running and hiking, and after going through several pairs of shoes, I've finally found the Salomon Speedcross series to be the best. Over the last couple of years I've gone through several pairs and about 2000 miles and they've remained my preferred shoe. First and foremost, sizing is on point but these fit narrow compared to a lot of shoes, even the wide version doesn't truly feel "wide." If you have a large/wide foot, you may want to try a pair on before you buy. However, with that said, that narrow fit usually translates to stability due to how snug around your feet they fit. Additionally, the tread on the shoes translates to the best grip I've encountered on a trail shoe which leads to a lot of confidence on the trails and hills whether it be rocky, smooth, slippery, or wet. The insoles are comfortable but in wetter conditions they can potentially curl up when descending steep hills. Additionally, I deal with a lot of foot pain, so for that they tend to run a little thin. I typically just replace the included soles with thicker, thermomoldable ones, which in my case, have consistently been the Viktos brand "Ruck Recovery" insoles but there are plenty of other options out there as well. Speaking of the tread, it's pretty durable. Through mostly dry, hard packed, southern California terrain, I'll average about 400-600 miles (or usually 4-6 months) per pair. With that said, at around 400 miles the tread around the ball of foot is usually worn down enough to consider replacing them just for the sake of potential slipping down less than stable (hard-packed with grainy pebbles/rocks and loose dirt) terrain. Also worth noting, it's not recommended to use these on pavement or asphalt, the lifespan of the tread will go down significantly if you do. So keep that in mind if you're using these in mixed terrain environments that may include paved roads. All that aside, I've yet to find a better all-around trail shoe.

Best trail runners I've ever owned - with the bonus of looking great as casual street shoes too. 3rd pair so far.
