This slim flashlight can easily be slipped into a tote bag, purse, or briefcase so that you have a light source under any circumstances, such as a blackout. I find it quite useful when doing laundry and shining the flashlight into the washing machine, as well as dryer, to make sure the prior person doing laundry did not leave any article of clothing, such as socks that blend in with the washing machine or dryer's interior. It's always good to have a portable flashlight available whether you're doing laundry or you're out and about.

I use this daily in the ER. This pen really lets me know if that pupil is fixed. GCS of 15? Just don't shine it directly into the eye!!! I read all the reviews saying this couldn't be used as a penlight, but bought it anyways because it was a much cheaper option than many other similar Amazon gadgets. It has a wide enough beam of light that you can just shine it at the cheekbones and illicit a pupillary reflex. I tried it on myself and have asked other people if it is too bright, and it works just fine. If I wanted a dull light, I could just use the flashlight on my phone. This penlight also illuminates throats very well. Some lights are too dim or obscure the color. With this light, even when a toddler is screaming and kicking and there is a fraction of a second to catch a glimpse of that posterior pharynx, a view may be obtained that actually changes management decisions over other lights. This pen also clips securely into my white coat pocket. If it sounds like you need it for similar uses, just get this light. It is cheap enough that I don't have to worry about losing it either.

This is a very confusing item to review. It really seems like it would be a good flashlight for travel. I never travel without one, I need something better than the phone. Nothing like checking in during a power outage. Also there is always a chance of a car breakdown or other issue in which it would be handy to have this small light.However, I wanted a laser cat toy. The cats won’t play with this. I gave it a try and they just looked annoyed as the light surrounded them. They REALLY need to change the search results for this item.It gets good reviews for being a decent small flashlight for the price, but it is misleading if you don’t read the individual reviews before you buy and your cats are bored.

Let me be honest. I bought this late one night when I found out my German Sheppard goes nuts for laser pointers. I thought I was getting a laser pointer that took real batteries, not those stupid button batteries that never last - I was wrong.This is a flashlight folks. I realized that when I unboxed it. I was disappointed and put it in the knife drawer in the kitchen thinking I'd use it sometimes as the need arose. Well - now it has been several months and I have to say I use it all the time. It's perfectly bright. It always works and it is quite sturdy. I go for it now when I have home improvement projects, when I need to go check outside the house at night because the dogs are barking and I love it.Long way to say that's it is a poor laser pointer to use to entertain your pet, but it is a fabulous tool for around the house. I use it more than I use my tactical flashlight or my led maglight (not that I would give up the other two, however, it is an addition, not a replacement).

I have used a pen light from eveready for years. I Just bought eleven of these light and seven that I have opened has the same problem. As you move it around is will flicker bright and dim. Has a rattle coming from inside the case. Can't find what is causing it. It seems to be the switch that may be causing it but it is unacceptable for a light to have this annoying problem. Very disappointed in these light. I have tried to use several out of this batch of lights, even given a few of them to friends and family. i believe there is a defect and they should be recalled. Went you need a light it is important that works as a light should not flickering bright and dim!!! Disappointed Customer!!!

There is a similar pen light that has a ribbed/scored barrel at the tip area - get that one. Not this one that is all smooth.This one has the LED bulb that sticks out far out of the tip of the barrel - the light goes wide all over. If you want directed LED light, get the different style one - it's bulb is further back into the barrel.I used to have a similar one (mentioned above) that costs more - I'd use it to light my tonsils and nostrils (I have sinus issues) and it worked great --- so this one makes too wide a beam of light and it blinds me when I am moving the light around my mouth or nose. I am considering putting it in the car and buying the better more expensive one.
